MONTREAL — The Boston Celtics will play a preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Montreal next season as part of the NBA’s Canadian series. The NBA announced the pairing on Tuesday. The teams will play at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Oct. 20. It’s the second season the league has held preseason games in Canada. The Wolves have been at the forefront of the influx of international players into the NBA in recent years with the likes of Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic, Andrei Kirilenko and J.J. Barea. The Celtics have a history of playing outside the United States. They played in Turkey and Italy last year and in 2007. They went to Spain in 1988.

DevonTe Discussion- Rajon Rondo's style of play

Rajon Rondo's style of play is unique. He is a passer and also, he is a point guard who can rebound the ball. A lot of people say that he needs to develop a jump shot so that he can choose to drive the ball or shoot the ball.  In the playoffs, Rondo's game goes to another level and he becomes the best point guard in the league. He does many things that most point guards...

Videos: Rajon Rondo plays Connect Four and talks Algebra

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo lost his 2012-13 season to a serious knee injury.  He has not let that stop him from staying in the spotlight. Whether it’s at a fashion show or at the Red Bull offices playing a game of Connect Four, Rondo is always into something. Check out this contest/interview. Ainge: Rondo Will Come Back Better

These days, it's hard to take what Danny says at face value and run with it. After all, he did assure us that Doc was definitely coming back just a couple of weeks ago and it's been nothing but speculation that he won't ever since. But, this time, I think he has a point. Rajon Rondo is a very smart kid (He does Algebra in his head, after all). And he saw how well the...

Report: Doc Rivers thinks ‘it may be time for a change’

A few days ago, Doc Rivers said he would “rather not say” if he was going to coach the Boston Celtics next season or step down.  Now, a source close to the situation told ESPN that the Celtics 9-year coach is ready for

Rajon Rondo Says Courtney Lee’s Doc Rivers Impression Is Best on Celtics (Video)

Rajon Rondo has played for Doc Rivers for seven years, so the 27-year-old point guard knows his coach fairly well. He also knows when someone’s impression of his coach is spot-on and when it needs work. Rondo has had a few teammates over the years who do an admirable impression of Rivers, but Rondo thinks Courtney Lee‘s is the best of all the current Celtics. In a wide-ranging...

Report: Odds still “overwhelmingly” in favor of Doc returning, but still open to other jobs

Like sands through the hourglass, these are the Doc days of our lives.  So the roller coaster ride continues for Doc, the fans and the rest of the NBA world.  While Gary Tanguay went on his “Uno Sports Tonight” show on CSNNE and called Doc a “diva” and said he was holding the team hostage, Steve Bulpett on the Boston Herald did a little bit more dirty work and delivered...

Report: Doc doesn’t want any part of full-blown rebuild

CSNNE’s Sherrod Blakely is the latest to report on the thoughts in Doc Rivers’ head: A league source told CSNNE.com on Monday that Rivers’ decision on whether he will return will not be based solely on whether Paul Pierce and/or Kevin Garnett are back in next season. Rivers’ hesitation to verbally commit to next season has more to do with his uncertainty as to what type...

Jason Terry Named Celtics’ Sixth Man of Year After Lowest-Scoring Season Since Rookie Year

Jason Terry‘s scoring average fell to a 13-year low in his first season in Boston, and his playoff production was only slightly better as the Celtics were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. Even so, this season was not without its honors for “The Jet. The Celtics named Terry as their sixth man of the year on Monday, honoring the 35-year-old guard and their second...

Report: Doc Rivers Would ‘Pause’ Before Signing on for Total Rebuild With Celtics

More than five weeks after the Celtics were bounced from the playoffs by the New York Knicks, Doc Rivers has yet to say definitively whether he will be back on the bench for the team next season. While the signs tilt toward him being back, seeing as Rivers has attended pre-draft workouts and discussed next year’s roster with president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, Rivers...

Source: Doc Rivers May Not Return As Boston Celtics Head Coach

The domino effect is locked-and-loaded for the Boston Celtics. The first domino to fall could be Doc Rivers. The Timberwolves Expect Rick Adelman To Return As Head Coach

There has been some chatter out of the Twin Cities about whether or not Rick Adelman will return next season as the Timberwolves’ head coach. Adelman is still under contract and the team would love to have him back, but the health concerns surrounding his wife have caused many to think he may not return and opt to spend more time with his wife. However, Scott Howard-Cooper of NBA...

Rajon Rondo is a Connect Four expert (VIDEO)

YouTube Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is a Connect Four expert and he proved it by beating basketball writer Brian Kamenetzky and Sal Masekela, the host of the Red Bull Signature Series, Bobby Fisher-style, at the same time. It has to be the freakishly-long fingers that gives him the edge.

Heat snap up Skyforce from Timberwolves' grasp

So much for the picture-perfect match between the professional basketball teams in the Twin Cities and the largest township in South Dakota. The Sioux Falls Skyforce, for years an affiliate and recently considered a prime hybrid partner for the Minnesota Timberwolves, unveiled a new set of insignia, signage and uniforms Monday afternoon. But they weren't tweaked to match the...

Boston Celtics: What I Want The Celtics to Look Like This Year

Boston Celtics: What I Want The Celtics to Look Like This Year By Bryan Luis I have never been a fan of Danny Ainge, but every Celtics fan has to admit that he brought the team out of life support with the trades for Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen in 2008. Now fast forward five years to now and you see a team in the pits of mediocrity, but I have a plan my fellow Celtics fans. Right...
