(AP Photo/Elise Amendola) First, the bench came through for the Celtics last night. They played like we envisioned them playing when we first saw them on paper. The timing for them to come through couldn't have been better. With 4 games in 5 nights, Doc needed to keep the minutes for the starters down. In order to do that and still get a win, the second unit had to come through. And, they did. With Rondo turning his ankle and needing to sit out much of the second half, Leandro Barbosa came through for the Celtics, running the team at the point and adding 16 points and 3 assists. He got to the hoop, hit jumpers, and kept the offense moving in the absence of Rajon Rondo. Rondo went to the locker room and came back to the bench. Word was that he was available to...

Nets head coach Avery Johnson recently expressed his frustration about how Celtics veteran forward Kevin Garnett is always calling out his team's plays on the floor.

Your Morning Dump…Where Rondo has taken his game to a whole new level

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “He works hard at his craft,” Pierce said. “It’s developing nicely over the years. I feel that with me, Kevin (Garnett) being around here, I’ve been a part of that. It’s beautiful to watch him finally...

Video: Jeff Green throws down on Al Jefferson

These kind of dunks and plays should not come as a surprise to us Celtics’ fans. Not because we are used to these plays, mind you. We haven’t, and there hasn’t been a guy this athletic in Celtics green since probably Gerald Green. But that was part of the reason that Jeff Green was brought in two years ago in the Kendrick Perkins trade. The Celtics lacked athletes on the wings...

Dunk of the night: Jeff Green posterizes Jazz’s Al Jeffereson

Kevin Garnett said Celtics Jeff Green needed to find his inner a$$hole and get mean. Wednesday night Jeff showed he has a little mean in him. Check out his dunk on Utah Jazz’s Al Jefferson.   Look, that was SEXY!! Oh, Jeff had a comment about the dunk on Twitter.   Don’t worry Jeff, you’re [...]

Green Envy: What Jazz fans said - 11/14

A great win for the Celtics. Obviously, Jazz fans weren't very pleased. Mostly their hate was directed at their own players - specifically one Mo Williams. Williams started going into hero mode at the end of the game, only problem is he's not LeBron James or Kobe Bryant. Or like, Paul Pierce even. That plan didn't turn out so well for Utah. Top three: 1. I think if we...

Comments from the Other Side - Jazz 11/14

Some good stuff from KG hating to Paul Pierce's old man game that was killing them. Of course there are the Tommy haters. Funny that they hate on Tommy for being a homer, but when I watch other teams' announcers it seems that they are just as much homers, as they should be. And of course they hate on their own players... Al, Mo, Foye. Enjoy today's CFTOS. The...

Boston Celtics Player Overview

The Celtics started out the new season with two straight losses, but they’ve bounced back and won four of their last five ahead of Wednesday’s home game against the Utah Jazz. Who have been the key contributors to the cause so far? You’ve got to start with Paul Pierce, who’s really taken over and become the nightly scoring threat we were accustomed to seeing. Pierce is averaging...

Rajon Rondo Injures Ankle in Celtics Win Over Jazz, Doc Rivers Doesn’t Expect Him to Play 82 Games (Video)

Doc Rivers didn’t seem overly concerned about Rajon Rondo‘s injured ankle following the Celtics’ 98-93 win over the Jazz. The Celtics’ head coach said he wasn’t expecting Rondo to play all 82 games anyway, so it might be wise to expect some rest for the point guard early in the season. The Celtics head to Brooklyn tomorrow night, so Rondo has a short window to heal the...
