Suns-frye-reacts-after
Channing Frye is on a real heater. On Wednesday night, he made a sick 10-of-12 shots on the way to 25 points, including three 3-pointers, nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal in 41 minutes. And the Phoenix Suns beat the Portland Trailblazers 120-106. I've always loved Frye's game; he's a big that gives you fantasy gold: threes, steals and blocks. In his last four games, Frye is averaging 18.8 points, 3.5 3-pointers, 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks in 33.5 minutes. Frye is owned in just 17.8 percent of ESPN leagues and 27 percent of Yahoo leagues. So he's out there for a majority of you. Get him while he's hot, but be aware that he's prone to cold spells. Quick hits: Markieff Morris is back on track (19 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal in 25 minutes).Chris Paul left last night's game with a strained right hamstring. CP3 has vowed to play on Friday. ... DeJuan Blair looked god in limited minutes off the bench (11 points, nine rebounds, two steals and an assist in 21 minutes).Reggie Jackson finally had the breakout game that we expected when Russell Westbrook was out (23 points, four rebounds, two assists, a three and a steal in 26 minutes). Jeremy Lamb went for 12 points, two 3-pointers, two rebounds and an assist in 20 minutes.Wilson Chandler did everything but hit a three (14 points, four rebounds, two asssits, two steals and a block.Martell Webster hit four more 3-pointers on Wednesday on the way to 18 points, five rebounds and seven assists in 43 minutes.Khris Middleton looked good for the Bucks (13 points, seven rebounds, two assists, a steal and a three in 33 minutes). John Henson did not (five points, five rebounds, two assists and a block in just 15 minutes).A guy to keep an eye on is Bulls rookie Tony Snell. He started again, played 37 minutes and scored 13 points to go with three 3-pointers, three assists, two steals and two rebounds. Mike Dunleavy played just 18 minutes and finished with two points and seven rebounds. Meanwhile, Carlos Boozer (six points on 3-of-11 shooting, seven rebounds and three assists) struggled and Taj Gibson blew up for 23 points (11-of-13 shooting on the way to 23 points. Taj also grabbed eight rebounds.Rodney Stuckey keeps putting in work off the bench for Detroit (25 points, two rebounds, two assists and a block).  Kyle Korver missed the Atlanta-Houston game with a rib injury. Cartier Martin started and knocked down four 3-pointers on the way to 14 points. He offered little more, so he's not worth an add. John Jenkins got some extra burn, hit three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points.Jeremy Lin left the game after four minutes with a knee contusion. He'll be evaluated today. Aaron Brooks stepped in and went off (21 points, four 3-pointers, two rebounds, four assists and two steals in 27 minutes). Francisco Garcia matched Brooks with 21 points and three 3-pointers. Don't expect it to last for either of them with James Harden coming back.Dion Waiters decided to showcase himself with 24 points, four 3-pointers, six rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes off the bench. He's the subject of trade rumors since he apparently can't get along with Tristan Thompson and Kyrie Irving. The Lakers' roulette wheel landed on Nick Young (26 points, four 3-pointers, a rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block.  Andray Blatche is doing well without Brook Lopez (14 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. Get him while BroLo is out. Mirza Teletovic came on for 17 points, four 3-pointers, five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 21 minutes. Definitely a lot of potential but not worth an add in anything but deep leagues.  Kosta Koufos is filling in nicely for Marc Gasol (seven points, 13 rebounds, three blocks, a steal and an assist. Ed Davis also looked good with 11 points, seven rebounds, three blocks and an assist in 24 minutes.  Jared Sullinger keeps showing why he should be owned in all leagues (23 points, 12 rebounds, two 3-pointers and three assists). And the play of the night goes to Jason Kidd.Hit me!

5 Trades that make sense for the Phoenix Suns

The first significant trade of the young season took place on Monday night. The Sacramento Kings acquired forward Derrick Williams from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Luc Mbah a Moute. Williams, the former number 2 overall pick in the 2011 draft, still has plenty of upside and did not get his fair share of opportunities to prove himself during his stint in Minnesota....

Suns notes: Dragic thriving in new roles on, off court

PHOENIX -- Goran Dragic is learning, day by day, that sharing your space with a newcomer requires patience and the willingness to adjust. But is the Suns' point guard completely comfortable with this arrangement? No, Dragic said after scoring 31 points in Wednesday nights 120-106 victory over the Trail Blazers. For the record, he wasnt referring to the process of adjusting...

Dragic on point for Suns with Bledsoe still out

PHOENIX -- As witnesses to the earlier-than-prognosticated ignition of their future, we've also noticed that two words could be trotted out to define November for the Suns. And here they are: Shin happens. There are other sufficient, two-word pairings, such as "ankle happens" or "stitches happen" or anything associated with the assorted injuries conspiring...

Are the Suns back to hoisting random 3s?

The Phoenix Suns once upon a time were one of the teams that set off the 3-point shooting binge in the NBA. Of the teams with the most 3-point attempts in NBA history, nine of the top 10 have happened since the Seven Seconds or Less Suns team of 2006. That 2006 team took the 10th most 3-pointers in NBA history with 2,097 attempts. The 2005 Suns team are 14th with 2,026 and the...

Suns-Jazz Preview

The much-improved Suns seek their fourth win in five games as they try to keep the Utah Jazz from winning back-to-back games for the first time Friday night. Phoenix (8-7) stumbled through a recent four...

Suns roll over Trail Blazers 120-106 after slow start

Qualify what the Suns have achieved beyond expectations this season all you want. Maybe those quality close losses were just losses in the end. Maybe most of their wins were against losing teams. And maybe they had a stinker at home against Sacramento. But that team that was supposed to be the worst team in the Western Conference has hit the holiday season with a winning record...
