In 2011, Kenya Bell, the now former wife of ex-Michigan State star and NBA journeyman guard Charlie Bell, plead guilty to breaking into a home and attacking her then-husband with a box cutter.  In 2012, she should be pleading guilty to robbery.

Kenya now stars in a reality television series named “Basketball Wives” despite not fitting the description anymore.  The Bells’ divorce was deemed final just over two weeks ago.  And while Charlie was once known as a pretty solid defender on the hardwood, he couldn’t guard any of his assets in the courtroom.  Kenya took her portion and then some and converted an “off-the backboard-360-between-the-legs-tomahawk” jam and got the “and one”.  According to TMZ.com, here is the breakdown of which each Bell received:

Children: Charlie must pay $1,000/month in child support, but they’ll share custody of their two daughters.

Homes: Kenya gets the marital home in Michigan, along with the home bought for her parents. Charlie gets the condo in Las Vegas and the home he bought his parents.

Money: Kenya was awarded $780,000 cash from Charlie’s savings.  Charlie is left with $656,000. Kenya also gets half of the $670,000 from another account.

Kenya’s big score comes from her receiving HALF of each of the following: (1) Charlie’s NBA 401k plan; (2) his NBA retirement plan; (3) his NBA pension; (4) NBA welfare plan; and (5) NBA supplement benefit plan.

Charlie will receive NONE of Kenya’s “Basketball Wives” income.

Charlie will most likely play this upcoming season (and every season until he enters an old folks’ home) in Europe to make up for his losses.
