Deng's late layup lifts Bulls past Hawks

Luol Deng's layup with 3.7 seconds to play lifted the Chicago Bulls to a 76-74 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. Bulls' late-game strategy pays off

The Atlanta Hawks were less than one quarter from becoming the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks already sent Miami's Power Trio to a stunning defeat Monday night. Then after traveling from South Florida and playing on consecutive nights, Atlanta's defense squeezed the life out of the Bulls for three quarters. The Bulls trailed 56-37 with 2:42 left in the...

What happened to picks?

The best thing to notice in those highlights, to me, is Joakim Noah's reaction after Luol Deng's game-winning layup. That's a man who loves the game. But watch again, and note the first play in the highlight package. There's Deng working a left side pick-and-roll with Derrick Rose. You've seen plays like this a thousand times. Rose has the ball, Deng sets the...

Post Up: Deng Did It

by Abe Schwadron | @abe_squad Sometimes you look at a box score and the numbers are eye-popping (see: Lakers-Rockets) while other times, watching the final play of a game can convince you that not a single stat mattered (see: Bulls-Hawks). The Pistons vs. The Bulls

The 2-3 Pistons are at the Palace of Auburn Hills to welcome back Rip Hamilton and his 5-1 Chicago Bulls. The good: The Pistons have won two in a row, and the Bulls played a tough one last night. Rip Hamilton returning to the Palace. The bad: MVP Derrick Rose. Rip may not see much action at his old stomping grounds, he’s nursing a groin injury. The unknown: What will the fans...
