The Celtics were outrebounded 46-34 last night and it hurt them on the scoreboard. Ray Allen (16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists) and Rajon Rondo (14 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals) led the way for the Celtics in this game. Paul Pierce only shot 3 of 12 from the floor but he still finished up with 13 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists and 1 steal. Brandon Bass got a rare start and he played pretty well finishing with 10 points, 9 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. The Celtics are now 4-6 on the year.
BEST OF MAXIM
A lot of different ideas have been thrown around over the past week, most of them have been trade ideas. Another idea that's starting to pick up speed is moving Paul Pierce, one of the Celtics greatest scorers ever, to the bench. Sounds crazy, huh? Well not so fast.
Let's say that the new Celtics starting lineup is as follows:
PG- Rajon Rondo
SG- Ray Allen
No NBA fan is going to forget the duel between Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo in the 2009 NBA playoffs. The Celtics were the reigning NBA champions and team to beat in the NBA. The staggering Celtics’ defense was led by Associate Head Coach and defensive specialist, Tom Thibodeau. For several seasons, Celtics’ opponents were [...]
8 a.m.: The Celtics take another crack at snapping out of their recent funk when they visit the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. While this would probably be a sparsely attended game if it were held in Boston, where fans will be glued to their couches flipping between the Patriots, Bruins and Celtics, the Hoosier State can devote its full attention to its Pacers. At 8-3, Indiana is second...
Loul Deng and the Bulls got the better of Rajon Rondo and the Celtics tonight in Boston
Some thoughts I thought while I watched the Celtics nearly pull another game out of their asses, but secretly knowing they wouldn’t
This is starting to become a trend. Celtics look sloppy in the first half, Celtics find some fire in the second half, Celtics make run, Celtics come up short when...
Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett shot a combined 6-for-18 in the first half on Friday against the Bulls.
After a disappointing loss to the Chicago Bulls last night, which was their third loss in a row after what Paul Pierce described by saying:
“RIGHT NOW WE'RE GOING THROUGH A LITTLE LULL, AND WE'VE JUST GOT TO GET THROUGH IT." The Celtics look to return to form against the 8-3 Indiana Pacers led by Danny Granger. The Pacers came into tonights game fresh off a win against...
7:45 p.m.: This is not the game to expect the Celtics to finally break out of their rebounding funk. The Celtics, who allowed 17 second-chance points to the Mavericks on Wednesday and are second-to-last in the NBA in overall rebounding, take on the best team in the league at keeping opponents off the glass. That's right. Bulls opponents average just 37.8 rebounds per game, the...
INDIANAPOLIS - Truly, there are signs of progress. The Celtics are improving. They are getting into better shape. Paul Pierce is regaining his toughness and confidence. Kevin Garnett’s spinning jumper is falling.
The Celtics only shot 38.6% from the floor tonight and it killed them.
