The National Basketball Association today announced that Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, December 17, through Sunday, December 23.
Paul helped lead the Clippers to a 4-0 week while averaging 16.3 points, a conference-leading 11.3 assists and 3.50 steals. Paul posted three pointsassists double-doubles and had two games with five steals as the Clippers established a new franchise record with 13-straight wins.
Paul also became the third youngest player in NBA history to record his 5,000th career assist when he accomplished the feat on Dec. 19 vs. New Orleans.
Here is a recap of the week for Paul:
Dec. 19 vs. New Orleans: Posted 10 points, 12 assists and five rebounds in 93-77 win.
Dec. 21 vs. Sacramento: Tallied 24 points, 13 assists, five rebounds and five steals in 97-85 win.
Dec. 23 at Phoenix: Collected 17 points, 13 assists and five steals in 103-77 win.
