Cleveland Cavaliers Reportedly Sign 13-Year NBA Veteran

On Saturday evening, the Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Houston Rockets (in Texas) by a score of 117-103. 

Following the game, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that the Cavs will sign Marcus Morris to a 10-day contract. 

Morris has played in 37 games for the Philadelphia 76ers this season and is averaging 6.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 43.9% from the field and 40.0% from the three-point range. 

Via Charania: "Free agent Marcus Morris has agreed to a 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Morris is expected to be available for Monday’s Cavs game vs. Pacers."

Morris was the 14th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Kansas and is in his 13th season playing in the league. 

In addition to Philadelphia, he has also spent time with the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets and New York Knicks.

His career averages are 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 43.5% from the field and 37.7% from the three-point range in 820 regular season games. 

He has also appeared in 65 NBA playoff games. 

As for the Cavs, they are the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 42-25 record in 67 games. 

They have gone 4-6 over their last ten games.

Following the Rockets, the Cavs will play their next game on Monday evening when they visit the Indiana Pacers.

On the road, they are 20-12 in 32 games.
