Life is Just a Fantasy ... Basketball...:
The Cleveland Cavaliers waived Josh Selby Sunday, clearing a roster spot, but the franchise won't sign Greg Oden yet, Cavs beat writers M.S. Boyer and J. Valade reported.
The Cavs have been reportedly interested in Oden, whose agent has said the former No. 1 pick won't sign until summer free agency begins.
Selby was acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies in a salary-shedding trade that also sent Marreese Speights and Wayne Ellington to Cleveland for Jon Leuer. His career has been a failure to launch.
Selby played one year for the University of Kansas before declaring for the 2011 NBA Draft. The Grizzlies picked him with the 49th pick in the second round. He never saw much time with the Grizz.
In the 2012 NBA Summer League, Selby was named co-MVP with Portland rookie phenom Damian Lillard.
His best game of the season was a 10-point effort on January 12 against the Dallas Mavericks.

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is officially listed as ‘probable’ for Monday night’s contest against the New York Knicks. He had missed the previous three games due to a hyperextended right knee.
“Based on what I saw in practice, there’s a good chance he’ll play,” coach Byron Scott said from shootaround on Monday morning. “We will see how he feels after...
Four reasons to stick with the Cavaliers:
1. General manager Chris Grant.
Hes done OK so far, right?
Its true Memphis was desperate to unload some salary, which is why Grant was able to pull off armed robbery by landing Marreese Speights and Wayne Ellington (and a draft pick) for Jon Leuer, who may not even be in the NBA next season.
Its true that a lot of teams could have done...

Kyrie Irving Hits the Club with Girlfriend
He wasn't able to help the Cleveland Cavaliers to victory, but Kyrie Irving did his part. After missing the last three games to a hyper-extened knee, Irving returned to the court yesterday and put up numbers like he normally does. Unfortunately, it was not enough to overcome the Knicks. Irving and the Cavs were beat 102-97 in Cleveland last night. However, Irving put up...
The Cleveland Cavaliers got some good news and some bad news before this game started. The good news was that Kyrie Irving would be returning after missing the last couple games with a knee injury. The bad news was that Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller were both sick and would miss the game.
Early on, it looked like the Cavaliers wouldn’t miss them too much. On the first possession...
Mike Illitch may be willing to deficit spend his way to a World Series, but it is Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert who is officially the wealthiest person to live in Detroit, Michigan, per Forbes.
Gilbert, the founder of Quicken Loans, Rock Ventures, Rock Gaming and owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers — among other smaller companies and teams — is worth an estimated $3.5 billion...
CLEVELAND -- The Cavaliers have become accomplished at one thing this season, and its not something thats any good.
But their ability to take the wind out of their own sails is clearly unmatched.
That may sound harsh, especially when youre talking about such a young team that understands its taking part in an ongoing process.
Well, chalk up another one to painful memories, as...
Everyone saw it coming. The players and coaches of the Cleveland Cavaliers congregated at halftime of Monday night’s contest against the New York Knicks, having amassed a 22-point lead only to let it slowly slip away before the mid-way buzzer provided some relief. Having watched plenty of tape and read all of the glowing features with their opponent as the subject, everyoone...
It’s been out there for at least a week, but we haven’t explicitly stated it yet on WFNY: Greg Oden, former No. 1 pick and possible free agent to a number of NBA teams, is unlikely to sign until the summer.
Initially, the report might have been first listed in Yahoo! Sports’ Marc Spears’ power rankings on Feb. 19. It had seemed earlier last month that Oden was leaning toward...
Kyrie Irving reached 2,000 points, he is the 9th player in the history of the NBA to reach 2,000 points scored at his age. It was great to see Irving return to the Cavaliers line up but it would have been even greater to see the team beat the New York Knicks. The Cleveland Cavaliers out played the Knicks in the first half of the game, they were leading at the half 61-49. It looked...
