The Cleveland Cavaliers waived Josh Selby Sunday, clearing a roster spot, but the franchise won't sign Greg Oden yet, Cavs beat writers M.S. Boyer and J. Valade reported. The Cavs have been reportedly interested in Oden, whose agent has said the former No. 1 pick won't sign until summer free agency begins. Selby was acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies in a salary-shedding trade that also sent Marreese Speights and Wayne Ellington to Cleveland for Jon Leuer. His career has been a failure to launch. Selby played one year for the University of Kansas before declaring for the 2011 NBA Draft. The Grizzlies picked him with the 49th pick in the second round. He never saw much time with the Grizz. In the 2012 NBA Summer League, Selby was named co-MVP with Portland rookie phenom Damian Lillard. His best game of the season was a 10-point effort on January 12 against the Dallas Mavericks. #Cavs waive Josh Selby, obtained from Memphis with Speights/Ellington. But N...

Despite inconsistency, Cavs right on track

Four reasons to stick with the Cavaliers: 1. General manager Chris Grant. Hes done OK so far, right? Its true Memphis was desperate to unload some salary, which is why Grant was able to pull off armed robbery by landing Marreese Speights and Wayne Ellington (and a draft pick) for Jon Leuer, who may not even be in the NBA next season. Its true that a lot of teams could have done...

Cavs again masters of own demise

CLEVELAND -- The Cavaliers have become accomplished at one thing this season, and its not something thats any good. But their ability to take the wind out of their own sails is clearly unmatched. Everyone saw it coming. The players and coaches of the Cleveland Cavaliers congregated at halftime of Monday night’s contest against the New York Knicks, having amassed a 22-point lead only to let it slowly slip away before the mid-way buzzer provided some relief. Having watched plenty of tape and read all of the glowing features with their opponent as the subject, everyoone...
