So all we've heard this year in the Association is how things in ClipperLand have changed. The sexiest team in the league! Lob City! Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and Caron Butler and Chauncey Billups, and gosh, aren't they more fun than the old sad Lakers. Tickets are hot! It's the new new thing in the town that cares more about new and sexy tha any other market in the country. And what happened tonight in the Staples Center, with the Clips in the middle of a six game homestand, in the thick of the Pacific Division race? It was a home game for Boston, with loud and proud Green fans being plainly heard all throughout the building for most of the night, and especially in crunch time. And I'm not saying that this had any impact in the eventual Clipper loss, where the home team was down 10 in the fourth, took a four point lead, then got worked like a brown belt. How bad was it? Clipper players were jeered for airballs. The place erupted when Ray Allen retu...

Chris Paul Rocks Face Mask For Tonights Game Vs. The Warriors

Chris Paul is wearing the "Kobe" mask to protect his fractured nose from more damage tonight versus the Warriors.  Must be and LA thing, it is the plastic surgery capital of the world after all.

Chris Paul vs. Deron Williams

I’ve read so much speculation as of late concerning who is the NBA’s best point guard. The names generally associated with this topic are Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Derrick Rose, Steve Nash, Russell Westbrook, Rajon Rondo and Tony Parker. Sure, you could begin make a case for guys like Kyle Lowry, John Wall and heck, even  young fellas like Kyrie Irving and Ricky Rubio (R.I...

Clippers could get Billups back on the bench

Securing NBA veteran Chauncey Billups was a huge coup for the young Los Angeles Clippers team. What better player could the team want backing up Chris Paul and the Clippers' second unit. However, as the season progressed, Billups ruptured his Achilles causing him to sit out the rest of the season and quite possibly, his career. And although reports state the Clippers are looking...

Chris Paul wearing protective mask for broken nose (Picture)

Kobe Bryant isn’t the only All-Star in LA who’s wearing a protective mask these days. Clippers point guard Chris Paul was wearing one for his team’s game against the Warriors Sunday. Paul sustained a nasal fracture in the first quarter of Friday’s win over the Spurs, according to the team. The fracture didn’t stop him from scoring 36 points and dishing 11 assists, but...

Aging Celtics fading from list of contenders

LOS ANGELES Paul Pierce opened the door at the far corner of the visitors' locker room, surveyed the phalanx of reporters camped in front of his locker and receded behind the gray metal door. It was easy to understand why, after the Celtics handed a 97-94 victory to the Lakers, Pierce wasn't yet in much of a mood to face the uncomfortable questions that follow the decaying...

Warriors-Clippers Preview

Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers are coming off their most prolific offensive display of the season, but consistency remains elusive. Opening a six-game homestand against the Golden State Warriors would appear to give them with a chance to start stringing victories together. Paul and the Clippers look to win back-to-back games for the first time in nearly a month Sunday...

Burden even heavier after Clips' loss to Celtics

LOS ANGELES Chauncey Billups is expected to show up Tuesday at the Clippers facility, a reminder of the team's carefree and confident days, when anything the Clippers hoped for seemed as much in reach as an alley-oop pass. Now, after a dispiriting 94-85 loss to Boston, the gravity of Billups' absence, the weight of new expectations and the depth of their shortcomings has...

Celtics survive Clippers late, BOS: 94 LAC: 85

It was a back and forth game, but in the end the Celtics came out on top after a late run helped them seal the 94-85 victory. It was the Celtics second night of a back to back, and their second straight game in the Staples Center. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 25 points, Kevin Garnett added 21 points. Rajon Rondo had a double double with 12 points and 10 assists. Ray Allen was...

CU hopes to keep rolling, UNLV wants to stop slide

Stacey Augmon, Larry Johnson, Jerry Tarkanian, NCAA violations. Yes, you could play the word association game for hours and not run out of memories, good and bad, for UNLV. As for Colorado? Well, this is the program that produced Chauncey Billups. And there was the time the coach took the sledgehammer to the locker room as a not-so-subtle way of getting a construction project going...

Celtics-Clippers Preview

Struggles on the road are one reason the Boston Celtics aren't in their customary position atop the Atlantic Division. A visit to the Los Angeles Clippers may have spelled more trouble earlier in the season, but it doesn't look so intimidating right now. The Celtics look to rebound from their latest road defeat as they continue their eight-game road trip Monday night against...
