Someone in a Minnesota Timberwolves jersey set a new career-high Friday night against a No. 4 seeded Houston team and no, it wasn’t Kevin Love. Corey Brewer joined the 50-point scorers club after an aggressive 51-point performance for the 112-110 Timberwolves win. Brewer told Fox reporters in a postgame interview that his mind set was to come out extremely aggressive, and that he was on both sides of the basketball offense and defense. Brewer joins historic company, becoming the fourth player to score 50-plus points and record six steals or better along with Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson and Rick Barry, according to NBA.com Brewer shot 19-of-30 from the field for his 51 points, the most in a regulation game in T’Wolves franchise history. NBA reporters caught up with Timberwolves’ head coach Rick Adelman for his thoughts on Brewer’s career night: “Obviously, Corey was incredible. Unbelievable game. I don’t know where he works up the energy he has. I mean, 45 minutes in and he is still going strong at the end. I think maybe Pek (Nikola Pekovic) and the two Kevins (Love and Martin) have been holding him back.” Check out the highlights from Corey Brewer’s epic night below.
