Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
We all expect Courtney Lee to be a big part of the team's success this season. So far, in the preseason, his shoot has been short much of the time as he has hit just 4 of 15 shots from beyond the arc. For a player who has shot almost 40% from beyond the arc over his career, his inability to hit from deep this season so far has been a bit puzzling. But the Herald posted a story that explains it.
Now Lee is in a better position to help even more. Even though he’s still made just 4-of-15 3-pointers, his outside shot is coming around — and there’s a physical reason for that. He was injured on Sept. 6 and didn’t get back playing until Sept. 28, a critical period to miss for a player seeking to come full speed into training camp.
“A lot of people don’t know that I was out three weeks before training camp, so I’m still trying to get my legs 100 percent back,” Lee said. “So you notice a lot of my shots, they’re not long they’re short. So that means I’ve got to get my legs back into it.”
So, he's been working his way back from being out for 3 weeks with a deep thigh bruise and now he's getting his groove back. We'll get to see more of what he can do in the season opener, I'm sure. But one thing that we are seeing is his defense. He is proving to be a very good defender. Doc said that he was the best defender against the Nets in the last game.
He also runs the floor very well and in that game, it was so much fun to see him running the floor with Rondo and the opportunities that's going to give the Celtics going forward. He's going to get most of his time at the shooting guard position, but he also has the size to play the 3 in a small lineup and he handles the ball well enough to play the point in some situations. That also allows him to take some pressure off of Rondo when he's on the court. Once he gets his legs back under him and gets used to the system, his versatility and talents are going to be one of the keys to the Celtics success this season.

It's interesting how each fan base is different as far as which
Celtics they dislike the most. Chicago, it's Rondo. The Nets, it's
Courtney Lee. Knicks fans seem to hate Jason Terry. But they all hate
the Celtics, so there's that. I think my favorite comment this time was
the guy whose phone auto-corrected Amare to Amateur, and they agreed
that it was...

Celtics fans finally got to see some great hoops last night as the C’s outlasted the Nets 115-85 in Brooklyn. One of the hot topics on Twitter was Jeff Green’s choice of kicks. He wore the Volt/Gorge Green Nike Hyperfuse 2012 seen in Jose3030′s pic above. If so inclined, you can cop a pair now on Eastbay. Enjoy some pics & GIFs from the game courtesy of Hoop China &...

Jeff Green and Jason Terry Lead the Celtics’ rally from a 20-point deficit to a 109 – 98 Preseason Win Over the New York Knicks. If Jeff Green can keep up his efficient scoring pace, he might not have to ask James Worthy for permission to use his nickname. Too soon? Probably, but as the [...]
Now, every year since 2004 Celtics Green has done a fantasy league via Yahoo and every year I come in sub top 3, BOOO!Well, twice I got 3rd. Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
And yet, through six preseason games, Sullinger has stood out both for his on-court play — 11 points, 7 rebounds, 56 percent shooting in 25 minutes — and for his demeanor. His notoriously hard to impress veteran...
What I have enjoyed the most this preseason is watching the Celtics fast breaks. For the first time, Rondo has multiple options on the break instead of getting the ball up court quickly and then having to dribble around while he waits for the rest of the team to get in place. The play above has Paul Pierce running ahead and getting the hoop. More than likely, he won't be...
The Celtics did not play a single game from June 9th when they came up a quarter short against the Heat in Game 7, until they traveled to Europe last week, but make no mistake, Danny Ainge won the off-season.
Let’s flashback to late February for a moment, the C’s were floundering a few games below .500 and the trade deadline was quickly approaching. The Green looked old, slow...
6:58 p.m.: Leandro Barbosa's anticipated debut in a Celtics uniform has been delayed by the pesky state department. Apparently there are some visa issues for the Brazilian national to clear before he can don the green and white in an actual game.
Barbosa warmed up prior to the game and spoke to reporters while wearing practice gear, but he joined Darko Milicic and Chris Wilcox...
In the final game of the preseason, the Celtics lose to the Philadelphia 76ers 88-79 (box score), as the Celtics take the next nine days to prepare for opening night against the Miami Heat. Here are some notes from the game:Celtics brought out an interesting starting lineup in Rondo, Pierce, Green, Bass and Garnett. Bass and Pierce both play despite their small physical ailments...
The Boston Celtics (2-4) “host” the New York Knicks (2-1) at 7:30 pm tonight at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY. The game will be broadcast on CSNNE and WEEI. Despite being played in the state of New York, on the schedule it’s listed as a home game for the Celtics. Exactly one [...]
This story isn’t meant to be primarily about Ray Allen, though he will stand as the prominent example in an inner debate I’m having with regards to a media phenomenon. My theory: Our views of athletes are distorted by the amount of time (and amount of friendliness with which) they speak to the media. Because Allen spent 15 minutes before every game holding court with reporters...
Earlier today ESPN the Mag released their opinion of where teams rank in the East and West, http://www.celticslife.com/2012/10/espn-mag-ranks-cs-4th-in-east.html. Many of you found it quite funny and some, not so funny. I myself try to find the humor in just about everything in life, so I decided to give my take on how some of the guys might react to their place in the rankings....
