Whenever Sports Illustrated releases its annual list of the Top 100 NBA players it sparks a debate.  Everyone from NBA analysts, bloggers to barbershops and corner boys attempt to poke holes in the rational behind a subjective list that supposedly defines the NBA’s top players. As such, it’s no surprise that NBA players have their own thoughts on the Top 100 list. After all, they’ve sized up the competition better than anyone and know the strengths and weaknesses of each opponent.  Of everyone sounding off, they’re most qualified to criticize Sports Illustrated and challenge the credibility of the list. CineSport’s Noah Coslov had the opportunity to interview Kevin Durant.  He probed Durant about his thoughts on the list, and more specifically, the Top 10 which includes: LeBron James (1), Kevin Durant (2),  Chris Paul (3), Tony Parker (4), Russell Westbrook (5), Tim Duncan (6), Dwight Howard (7), Dwyane Wade (8), Kobe Bryant (9), and Carmelo Anthony (10). Never one to hold back, Durant, without hesitation said he believed his former teammate James Harden was more deserving of D. Wade’s No. 8 spot. Of course, word quickly got back to Wade and this happened. Then, within minutes after D-Wade’s IG post, this happened. Show me don’t tweet me.. — Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) September 25, 2013 Of course this exchange blew up Twitter and Instagram.  The masses presumed Durant’s message was directed at D-Wade and therefore excitedly ruled that a social media beef was brewing between the two All-Stars.  I don’t foresee this escalating to Richard Sherman and Darrelle Revis proportions, but I admit, the commencement of trash talking among players is a welcomed reminder that the start of the NBA season is upon us.  Get hype! -@itsshanarenee
