Bernard James had excellent per-36 numbers last year with 10.3 ppg, 10.3 rpg and 3.0 bpg Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks were forced to doing something they didn’t want to to do on Saturday and that’s waive 2nd-year center Bernard James. James, the 28-year old from Florida State, showed the Mavericks and the rest of the league his potential with excellent per-36 production last year with 10.3 ppg, 10.3 rpg and 3.0 bpg. The Mavs hope to resign James when he clears waivers, but fear that he will be picked up by another team. James averaged 2.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg and 0.8 bpg last season and started 11 games for the Mavs. The Mavericks only owed James $788K, but had to remove his salary-cap hold to complete their signing with Monta Ellis. James was slated to come off the bench this season, behind the Mavericks newest signing in Samuel Dalembert. He was also suppose to dominate the summer league, according to Rick Carlisle, but only played in the opener before he was waived. He ended the game with two points, nine boards and three blocks. The Mavericks can still pick up James if he’s still available, but after the 48-hour period after clearing waivers, James will become a free agent, therefore, wiping out the $788K they would want to pay him. After this week and the signing of Dalembert, the Mavericks are also still in the running for former number 1 pick, Greg Oden, along with the Heat, Spurs and Pelicans. Cuban and the Mavs have been at it this offseason, with three new starters to go with Dirk and Shawn Marion for the second straight year. Along with Dalembert and Ellis, the Mavs also signed Jose Calderon. The trio replaces Chris Kaman, O.J Mayo and Darren Collison, all who signed one-year deals last year that resulted in the team missing the playoffs for the first time in 12 years.

Knicks News: Bernard James a Player of Interest?

Via Marc Stein The Dallas Mavericks were forced to waive second-year center Bernard James on Friday, a move they were hoping to avoid, according to sources with knowledge of the decision. Earlier in the week, Dallas convinced James to move the July 15 guarantee date in his contract to a later date in the summer, which team officials hoped would buy them the extra time needed...

Mavericks Waive Bernard James

The Dallas Mavericks waived Bernard James, a 6-foot-10 center who was the 33rd overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. James, 28, started 11 games for the Mavericks last season and averaged 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds. Dallas remains interested in signing Greg Oden, who is expected to choose between the Mavericks, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans.

Mavericks Waive Bernard James, Josh Akognon

The Dallas Mavericks have waived Bernard James and Josh Akognon. The Mavericks were forced to waive both players in order to clear cap space to sign Monta Ellis to a $25 million contract. Dallas is interested in re-signing both players if they clear waivers.

Mavs sign Dalembert, close to locking up starters

DALLAS (AP) -- The Dallas Mavericks have signed free agent center Samuel Dalembert (DAL'-em-behr), putting them a step closer to securing another overhaul of their starting lineup. The deal announced Friday means four of the projected starters in Dallas are under contract. The other, shooting guard Monta (MAHN'-tay) Ellis, has a verbal agreement. The contract is reportedly...

Dirk Nowitzki and a German DJ belted out ‘Satisfaction’ in the back of a car

Well this is rather odd, in that it involves Mavs forward Dirk Nowitzki, German DJ Flula, a couple of members of the Dallas cheerleading squad, and some in-car karaoke. Trust me, you’ve never seen a version of the Rolling Stone’s hit Satisfaction like this one, and you probably never will again… If this is a regular occurrence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area then sign me up...

Dirk Nowitzki Sings Rolling Stones’ ‘Satisfaction’ Poorly in Flula Borg Music Video (Video)

This is clearly one of the strangest NBA-licensed video clips you’re soon to see. Flula Borg is a German techno DJ who’s currently based in Los Angeles and has actually been involved with Current TV and appeared in commercials (fittingly enough, as a DJ) for AT&T. However, we have no idea what the connection is between Borg and the Dallas Mavericks or Dirk Nowitzki — besides...

Dallas Mavericks better off without Dwight Howard says Mark Cuban

Dwight Howard took his talents to Houston. Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks also made a push for Howard, but did not get him in the end of things. Recently Cuban told ESPN Dallas that the Mavs are in a better spot without Howard. “I think we’ve put ourselves in a spot where we’re in a better spot than we were at if we got just the one max-out deal,” Cuban told ESPNDallas...

Dirk Nowitzki sings Rolling Stones “Satisfaction” with DJ Flula and Mavericks dancers

Things to cross off my NBA bucket list: See a video of Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki sing a Rolling Stones classic. Check out Dirk singing “Satisfaction” with his pal DJ Flula and a couple members of the Dallas Mavericks dance team in a car. If you are just looking for just Dirk’s music stylings, it’s about 2-minutes in: *** Dirk sings Satisfaction [It's Always...

Dirk Nowitzki Sings “Satisfaction” (video)

If the Dallas Mavericks Dancers werent in the car, this video wold be unbearable! As hard as he tries Nowitzki should never sing into a mic again, a basketball should forever be his best friend. Nowitzki is seen riding around Germany with DJ Fula, during the interview the DJ decides to start playing “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones and hands the mic to Nowitzki who proudly...

Mavs reach agreement with Gersson Rosas to become GM

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed in principle with Houston Rockets VP of basketball operations Gersson Rosas to become the franchise's general manager, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. For Mavs owner Mark Cuban and president Donnie Nelson, the hiring of Rosas is a coup for an organization that has been committed to finding a way to strengthen its basketball operations. Rosas...

Mavericks Close To Trading Nick Calathes To Grizzlies

The Dallas Mavericks are close to sending Nick Calathes in a trade to the Memphis Grizzlies for future draft considerations, according to sources. Calathes was drafted by the Mavericks in the second round of the 2009 NBA draft pick and spent the past four seasons playing overseas. Calathes has an opt out in his contact with Lokomotiv Kazan that allows him to come to the NBA.

VIDEO: Flula Borg ft. Dirk Nowitzki – Satisfaction

The NBA enjoys making fun videos to post on YouTube and their website but the latest might be the strangest one I’ve seen yet. German techno DJ Flula Borg was in town and hooked up with Dallas Mavericks Dirk Nowitzki and a couple cheerleaders. They did what you’d expect them to do with a DJ listen to some tunes, except this turned into a horrendous rendition of The Rolling...

Dirk Nowitzki In A Music Video Is Just As Bad As You Think

This dude is Flula Borg, and I have no ******* clue A)what that means, B)what a “flula” is, C)why they’re ripping off the Rolling Stones in the worst way possible, D)if “borg” refers to Star Trek, and E)why the hell Dirk Nowitzki jumps in the car. That’s a lot of questions, it’s true. And even more if you consider I just don’t care. Enjoy and discover for yourselves...
