Could Danny Granger and LeBron be teammates? credit: zimbio.com
The Indiana Pacers shocked many when they made a fairly significant deal right before the NBA trade deadline passed. They dealt away former face of the franchise Danny Granger to the lonely Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen, a move that looks to make the Pacers both better and deeper.
There has been plenty of speculation about whether or not Granger will ever suit up for Philly. The franchise’s intentions are clear, as they’re building toward the future. With Spencer Hawes and Evan Turner both gone, an already bad team seems to have gotten much worse.
Surely, Granger doesn’t want any part of that, right?
If this is the case, there’s a good chance Granger will get bought out by Philly. At this point, after clearing waivers, he would be free to sign with the team of his choice. This is where things could get interesting.
Should he get buyout to become free agent, Danny Granger will likely decide among Heat, Clippers, Bulls, Spurs, Mavs, sources tell RealGM.

All of these teams make sense, although it’s very interesting to see Miami. As you’ll remember, Granger was awfully feisty with LeBron and the Heat a few seasons ago during the playoffs. It’d be strange to see him in a Heat uniform.
He’d surely do well with the Spurs, because, well, everyone does. If he could find some of his old scoring punch, Chicago could be a great fit.
It will be weird seeing Granger in a new uniform, but it should also be a ton of fun speculating on which uniform that will be.
