Seeing DeMarcus Cousins in a King’s uniform reminds me a lot of Chris Webber. Cousins has the best handles in the NBA, you throw a pass within a 20ft radius of Cousins and he is swallowing the ball up better than I’ve seen anyone do since C-Web.
DeMarcus also owns the best skill sets of any center in the NBA, pretty impressive for a guy who didn’t play basketball until the 8th grade. Getting started so late, it’s easy to understand why Cousins’ game is still improving. While playing only one more minute per game for the Kings this season, Cousins has increased in every major statistical category. He’s averaging 16.7 points per game and 10.9 rebounds per game this season which is a 2.6 & 2.3 increase in those categories. He’s shooting better from the field and his free throw percentage went from 68.7 to 72.7% this season. He’s gone up in steals and blocks while lowering the number of turnovers per game.

DeMarcus Cousins is a 6’11″ center but apparently he thinks he has the ball-handling skills of a young Magic Johnson.
Against the Utah Jazz on Thursday night Cousins ended up with the ball on the break and worked his way through three defenders, juking guard Jamaal Tinsley with a sweet, behind-the-back dribble before finishing with a lay-in.
