Iguodala, was acquired by the Nuggets in a four-way trade involving Dwight Howard in which Denver sent Arron Afflalo to Orlando.
Just because Iguodala opted out of his contract, that does not mean management is prepared to let him walk. According to team CEO Josh Kroenke, the Nuggets’ top priority is re-signing Iguodala.
“We are fully aware of Andre’s intentions and he’s well aware of how much we want him back,” Kroenke told Yahoo Sports. “Andre is a huge priority for our organization.”
Iguodala was set to make a little more than $16 million in his final year. He feels he could command more on the open market.
If Iguodala didn’t exercise the termination clause, the longest extension he could sign with the Nuggets would be three years.
