The trouble with winning streaks is that they always have to come to an end eventually. The Denver Nuggets know this. They just never figured that their streak would be halted by one of the worst teams in the league who would be led by a rookie starting in his second game.
But that is exactly what happened.
The outcome was never really in doubt. Thanks in large part to the timely passes of Brian Roberts the Hornets were able to get out to an early lead en route to a 59-38 half time score before eventually winning 110-86.
Brian Roberts essentially stole the show with 18 assists--11 coming in the first half-- to go with 13 points. He recorded more assists than the Nuggets did as a team. To put the feat further into perspective, in four seasons playing for the University of Dayton he never had a single game with 10 assists!
