Found November 05, 2013 on Hardwood Gold Rush:
Kenneth Faried and Jordan Hamilton will make their debuts as starters for the first time against the San Antonio Spurs (2-1). The Denver Nuggets (0-2) will host the Spurs in their second home game of the season on Nov. 5. Starting at 0-2, coach Brian Shaw needed some changes to his Nuggets squad. Faried, last years starting power forward, has averaged 8 Pts and 8 Reb in 19.5 minutes through two games. Last year, the Manimal started 80 games and consistently put up 11.5 Pts and 9.2 Reb in 28.1 min. New Nuggets PF JJ Hickson earned the starting spot after a solid preseason. Faried has visibly struggled coming off the bench, and expressed his displeasure with his new role to the media. Faried cont’d… “I can’t really take much blame for that because I’m not starting. Some of the starters have to step up.” #Nuggets — Raj Sharan (@Raj_Sharan) November 2, 2013 Faried will get to put his game where his mouth is against the Spurs. Few could have predicted Hamilton would start–he’s played zero minutes so far this season. Shaw has given Hamilton an opportunity to start at small forward in place of Anthony Randolph. This move is probably attempting to address the issue of energy on the court early in games. Hamilton has the ability to get buckets. However, he also has been known to not score at all if he’s cold. The Nuggets need changes, and hope to find solutions to their issues starting with their game againgst the Spurs. Other Notes: -The Nuggets beat the Spurs 98-94 in the preseason. However, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili didn’t play. -Nate Robinson led the Nuggets with 26 Pts off the bench against the Portland Trailblazers on Nov. 1. Robinson recorded 16 Pts in the fourth quarter. He brought the Trailblazers lead down from 26-points to seven in the final quarter. -Coach Shaw has stuck to an 11-man rotation through two games. He has said that he plans to play the same number of players. -JaVale McGee has played in short stints, much like how George Karl used him last year, so far in regular season. Shaw says he plans to continue using McGee in five to seven minute bursts.  Jordan Morey will have a post-game analysis following the game at Hardwood Gold Rush. Nuggets Trade Options for Kenneth Faried

Things are quickly souring between the Denver Nuggets and power forward Kenneth Faried. Faried and head coach Brian Shaw’s relationship seems to be getting worse every game, and given that he’s played quite a bit less minutes-wise this year compared to any other. It was reported this offseason that Denver had been putting out feelers ...The post Nuggets Trade Options for Kenneth...

Denver Nuggets: Hold the phone

Ty Lawson has led the Nuggets in scoring with 20.3 ppg. (USA Today Sports) It’s not time to panic…yet. Yes, the Denver Nuggets were losers in the first three games of the season. And sure, losing streaks are never ideal, especially to start. But as the wise poet Kendrick Lamar says, “hol’ up”. That is, let’s not bury the Nuggets in the basement storage unit until all...

Kroenke Wants Nuggets To Remain Patient To Evaluate Current Roster

The Denver Nuggets have undergone a lot of upheaval over the past few months, losing Masai Ujiri to the Toronto Raptors while firing George Karl. That followed the Nuggets' decision to trade Carmelo Anthony in 2011. "The hard part of pro sports is staying patient," Josh Kroenke said in a rare sit-down interview. "We need to stay patient enough to evaluate what...

Rocky, The Denver Nuggets New Mascot, Had A Pretty Rough Debut

The Denver Nuggets made their home debut for the 2013-14 season on Friday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, and right from the very beginning, things simply weren’t in their favor. The Nuggets’ mascot, Rocky, was to descend from the rafters for the team’s introduction – something that so many sports mascots have done so many times before – but the unnamed person...

Marco Belinelli Offers Nice Young Lady Something “Long And Thick” To Eat

It appears Spurs forward Marco Belinelli has been studying at the J.R. Smith School Of Pickup Artistry. Nice try, Marco, but maybe @g0ldbluntz just doesn’t like her meatballs spicy. [Twitter] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

Spurs’ Marco Belinelli Went DM Diving and it Backfired (Photo)

Nothing wrong with some DM diving on Twitter, but when you’re a professional athlete, you might want to be a little more careful about your approach. New San Antonio Spurs guard Marco Belinelli apparently was interested in a particular young lady and decided that this was the best approach.

When DM’s go wrong: Spurs Marco Belinelli offers young lady beef for dinner on Twitter

I used to refer to Twitter as dine and deliver for athletes. Their Twitter followers were like the menu and to place an order, they simply dived into an attractive followers DMs. With that, came the exposing. Leaked or accidental DM’s from athletes can be quite amusing. Who can forget Ray Allen’s accidental DM turned into a tweet when he was just looking for a little oral stimulation...

Veteran NBA writer JA Adande recieved his first sideline reporting assignment Friday night working for ESPN.  While that sounds like a great opportunity for someone expanding their presence on television, Adande was faced with one of the most fearsome, frightening, intimidating tasks in all of sports. Interviewing San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. Having your...

With the San Antonio Spurs sitting at two wins and one loss on the season, point guard Tony Parker spoke about the start to the season on his French radio show and also weighed in on Nicolas Batum's late three pointer which gave him a triple-double as the Blazers handed the Spurs their first lost of the season. (via Parker on beating the Lakers: "...

Ginobili reiterates possibility of playing in World Cup

In an effort to hopefully lengthen his career, San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili decided against playing in international play over the summer after suffering nagging injuries that affected him, especially in the NBA Finals where it seemed like Ginobili was on his last legs. It seemed chances were slim that he’d consider playing with Argentina in the World Cup in Spain...

San Antonio Spurs 99, Phoenix Suns 96 -- Points of emphasis versus larger sample sizes

AT&T CENTER-- In the small sample size theater that is the opening weeks of the NBA regular season, points of emphasis seem to be, well, emphasized, in more glaring ways than one. On one hand, there are the delay of game calls, carrying (three-to-four called on a post player attempting to back down a defender by my unofficial count), and traveling violations officials have... is Tracking Whether 2013 Lakers or Spurs can go 72-10
