Life is Just a Fantasy ... Basketball...:
Derrick Favors gave a glimpse of what he can do in starter's minutes Wednesday, double-doubling with 17 points (6-of-11 field goals and 5-of-6 free throws) and 15 rebounds. Favors played 38 minutes and added three assists and three blocks.
Favors picked up the start for the injured Paul Millsap, who sat with a sprained left ankle. No word on his timetable for return. Favors is owned in 59 percent of Yahoo leagues and was a popular stash before the trade deadline. This is likely only a tease of what's to come, say next season (Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap are free agents int he summer and one or both could leave).
The Jazz fell 102-91 to the Atlanta Hawks. Al Jefferson also double-doubled with 26 points (12-of-22 field goals and 2-of-7 free throws) and 11 rebounds.

In Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap, the Jazz have two above-average players they cannot — and probably should not — both re-sign at the end of the season. The Jazz have no chance at winning a championship this year, so the wisest play seemed to be trading one or both of their impending free agents, collecting some young talent in return, and moving forward with their younger core...
Despite having two of the most sought after players at the trade deadline, in upcoming free agents, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson (their starting frontcourt), the Utah Jazz decided to stand pat. This surprised everyone as they could have added significant assets to add to their future core of Derrick Favors, Enes Kanter, Gordon Hayward and Alec Burks and there is no way that they...
The Lakers have been linked to Raja Bell since before he signed with the Utah Jazz in 2010. Kobe Bryant tried to recruit Bell for the Lakers but the Jazz offered him a lucrative contract.
Bell's relationship with Utah soured after two seasons. Now, in the final year of his deal, Bell has spent the entire season away from the team after both sides agreed to part ways. He'...
After Monday’s overtime win against the Utah Jazz, Paul Pierce said that his late game duel with DeMarre Carroll dated back to this summer but left it up to the Jazz forward to fill in the details. Carroll explained further to the Salt Lake Tribune’s Steve Luhm at the Jazz’s Tuesday morning practice:“It’s just a summer thing,” Carroll said, explaining he often works out...
Raja Bell hasn't played throughout the season.
Al Horford scored 34 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, while Josh Smith added 24 points 14 rebounds to help the Atlanta Hawks hold off a fourth-quarter rally by the Utah Jazz and claim a 102-91 victory Wednesday night.
Al Jefferson led Utah with 26 points and 11 rebounds, while Derrick Favors had 17 points and 15 rebounds. It wasn't enough to prevent the Jazz (31-27) from losing...
A sustained effort complete with focus and intensity could be what the Utah Jazz need to end their recent rough stretch.
Hosting the lowly Charlotte Bobcats might help.
The Jazz look to avoid a season-worst fourth consecutive loss with an eighth straight victory over the Bobcats on Friday night.
A 20-point second-half deficit was too much for Utah (31-27) to overcome in Wednesday...
Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap missed Utah's game against Charlotte on Friday because of sprained left ankles.
Millsap is sidelined for a second straight game after he was hurt in the first quarter of Utah's 110-107 overtime loss to Boston on Monday. Jefferson was injured in a 102-91 loss to Atlanta on Wednesday.
Both players have just missed two games this season. Jefferson...
Before last week's trade deadline it almost seemed certain the Hawks would trade away free agent-to be Josh Smith. It was almost as if he was saying his good byes to his hometown in the weeks leading up to the trade deadline and the inevitable seemed to be happening.
The same could be said for Utah with both Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson getting set to hit free agency.
