On Saturday night, Derrick Rose began his NBA comeback with the Chicago Bulls after 17 months away from the game recovering from an ACL tear he suffered in the first game of the 2012 preseason.  He played 20 minutes and scored 13 points, two assists and three steals. Although he didn't play in the final 19 minutes, he deemed his first step in the comeback a success. As reported by Kelly Dwyer at Ball Don't Lie through Yahoo! Sports,  Rose had his ups and downs in his preseason debut. He hit five of his six shots from the paint in his first and third quarter bouts with the NBA's top defense in 2012-2013, the highlight being one two-handed dunk on a breakaway.  He was also hesitant running the offense at times, setting up a few lengths behind the 3-point line as he called up plays.  Rose had four turnovers in 20 minutes and wasn't comfortable with the Pacers in the half-court game.Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau pointed out the Rose's rust, we to be expected, but he also blamed some of Rose's teammates. Only five of the Bulls who shared the court with Rose on Saturday have played on the court with him before. The hardest part moving forward is for Thibodeau to figure out how to make Rose part of the game plan, after his long absence and knowing Rose's tendency to have the ball in his hands the bulk of the time.  One of the best parts of moving forward with Rose is his ability to lead this team on a championship run.Last season nine Bulls averaged over 20 minutes per game, including point guard Nate Robinson, who averaged 25.4 minutes per game. His playing time could reduce with the return of Rose.In 279 career games, Rose is averaging 21 points and 6.8 assists per game.  His best season was in 2010 - 2011 when he averaged 25 points, 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game.  He is a career 46.4 percent shooter from the floor and 81.5 percent from the free throw line.

I was on my way to...
