Well, that didn’t take long.
According to reports, Dallas Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson was arrested in Irving, Texas on Tuesday evening for public intoxication.
Iving police officers were called to an apartment complex around 10:30 P.M. on reports of a man who was wandering aimlessly in the complex. At that time, they found Stevenson who was intoxicated and did not know where he was.
The Mavericks guard was booked into the Irving jail and was released at 5:30 am this morning.
You had to know that the Dallas Mavericks were going to be on a bit of a bender given their recent NBA Championship victory, but this doesn’t release any of them from personal responsibility.
The fact that Stevenson’s PI came just a day before the team’s scheduled victory parade in Dallas is even more unfortunate. It’s likely now that attention will turn to him rather than the plans for the parade.
A selfish act by a really strange guy.
