Doc Rivers didn’t bolt Boston to make the Clippers just another team in the Western Conference that’s fun to watch. Rivers was thinking big from the get-go, as he made clear Wednesday.
“I know what I think we can be, and I think that we have a realistic chance of being the winner at the end of the year,” Rivers told USA Today.
Rivers spoke after a news conference to introduce the Clippers’ free agent signees. New additions Jared Dudley, J.J. Redick and Darren Collison joined Chris Paul, Ryan Hollins and Matt Barnes, who were retained from last season’s roster, with Rivers merely watching. The Clippers did have to part with Eric Bledsoe as part of the deal to acquire Redick, but Rivers and the rest of the Clippers sounded confident that the team should remain a favorite in the West.
At least, Rivers thinks so, anyway.

LAS VEGAS Doc Rivers leans toward the side of the bleachers. He isn't coming down. He'll be mobbed if he does, and he's just here at summer league for two games. Below him, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin mingle, Paul leaning up to joke with his new coach.
Eventually, Monty Williams appears from behind one of the curtains that at summer league function as locker room...

I came to terms with the team on Sunday, then heard about the news conference on Wednesday. I thought, 'all right, I feel important, I feel needed.'
I couldn't wait to get back in the gym. And I got a full workout in before the press conference.
I'm glad I can pick up right where I left off.
I came to the workout...

Daren Collison Contract: 2 years, 3.8 million
- This is an excellent deal for the Clippers. After trading Eric Bledsoe, the Clippers needed a backup point guard and with little money to spend, they were able to land a point guard who still has high potential and is already a...
Blake Griffin says he’s not soft, in response to teammate Chauncey Billups going on record to call him “too nice” of a basketball player last month of ESPN’s First Take. In fact, he’d be willing to prove it to any doubters — off the court.
According to ESPN:
Blake Griffin said in an interview with ESPN that he’s not worried if he is being labeled as soft around the...
Chris Paul wasted little time signing his new five-year, $107 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers early on Wednesday morning, shortly after the NBA lifted its moratorium on free-agent signings.
Paul tweeted out this photo of the pen hitting the paper:

The 21st annual ESPY Awards are taking place on July 17, and Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan has decided to take the opportunity to be a family man. You know, I kind of feel bad for Lamar Odom. His now mostly irrelevant basketball career has taken a backseat to him being married to a Kardashian. And where there is a Kardashian, there is paparazzi. We all knew it was only a matter of time before one of them had a meltdown, I just assumed it would be Bruce Jenner.
Yestersay in Hollywood, Odom went into the back of a paparazzo...
Things have been really off for Lamar Odom since the Los Angeles Lakers traded him to the Mavericks two seasons ago. it took him the bulk of last season to round into playing shape and he’s been fighting off allegations that he’s cheating on his wife, Khole Kardashian with a stripper he met in DC at Stadium night club.
Lamar has cheated on Khloe since at least January 2012,...
Something must have set Lamar Odom off on Wednesday as the NBA free agent tossed the gear of a photographer into a street in Hollywood.
Footage of the incident was first reported by TMZ.
As odd as Odom’s initial actions were so too is the end of the video where a woman asks him to pose for a photo and he does.
Thus far no police reports have been filed.
Lamar Odom lashed out on paparazzi in LA on Wednesday afternoon, tossing cameras and various items from a car into a crowded street and then smashing another paparazzo’s car, reportedly because the photographers questioned his loyalty to wife Khloe Kardashian.
It may not have been the best timing as it was also reported Odom was kicked out of his house Wednesday after rumors surfaced...
Lamar Odom flipped out on a few paparazzi members in Hollywood on Wednesday, and it sounds like he was set off when asked about his alleged cheating. Star Magazine reported on Wednesday that Odom has been cheating on wife Khloe Kardashian since at least January 2012. They say Khloe kicked him out of their house [...]
