Knicks Journal :
Though the rumors of Phil Jackson returning to New York to coach have ceased with Mike Woodson formally signing a contract extension, that hasn't stopped Jackson's name from being attached to the other notable open positions in the NBA.The Orlando Magic were clearly frustrated by the fallout between Dwight Howard and former coach Stan Van Gundy, as well as the team's inability to leap to the next level. Looking to further themselves as much as possible from the era of Van Gundy and former G.M. Otis Smith, the team is targeting of the league's most accomplished winners in Jackson. But no, there aren't any plans for the eleven-time title winner as coach (and two as a player with the Knicks) to return to the bench. Instead, Sports Illustrated is reporting the Magic are coveting Jackson for a front office role.In fact, former Bobcats coach Sam Vincent (who also played for Jackson while a member of the Bulls) is proposing an arrangement in which he and Jackson would jo...

WHAT, ME WORRY?
In the story that will never die, a TV station in Orlando is now reporting that the Magic center loves the city and doesn't want to traded.
When Orlando Magic and eventual Brooklyn Nets center Dwight Howard agreed to sign his one-year extension to “let the Magic try to keep him”, a lot of people were pissed off at Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade when he made fun of Howard on Twitter for his overzealous use of the word “loyalty”. But bless their silly hearts, Magic fans – *points to self, frowns* – believed...
"Loyalty" isn't exactly the word that comes to mind when you think of Dwight Howard's relationship with the Orlando Magic. But, hey, whatever sells t-shirts.
NEW YORK—It looks like the magical mystery tour that was the New York Knicks 2011-2012 season will get a chance to repeat itself.

Knicks head coach Mike Woodson joined The Michael Kay show yesterday for the first time since receiving his contract extension. Woodson covered switching agents, Jeremy Lin, and Phil Jackson- see what he had to say:
With all due respect to you, we’re you surprised that the Knicks didn’t pick up the phone and feel out Phil Jackson to see if he wanted to come here?
Let’s do a quick recap, shall we?
In the past couple of months, here’s how loyal Dwight Howard has been:
- He demanded that Stan Van Gundy be fired
- He waived his opt-out clause only because he didn’t want to be traded to the Lakers
- He sat out the playoffs because he no longer wanted to play for Stan Van Gundy
- He has plans to ask for a trade in the offseason
- He singlehandedly...
If the t-shirt you see above was available for purchase on a Magic fan blog, we would appreciate it as a genius form of sarcasm. However, it’s not. Believe it or not, the NBA store is selling Dwight Howard shirts with the word “Loyalty” across the front of them. Considering it was recently reported that Howard is disgusted with the Magic and wants out of Orlando this offseason...
Carmelo Anthony is optimistic about the prospects of a full training camp with Mike Woodson as the Knicks' coach.
Orlando Magic Receive: Brook Lopez, MarShon Brooks, Gerald Wallace and Three 1st Rnd Picks
Brooklyn Nets Receive: Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu
- This is obviously not the best package for Howard, but this seems to be Howard’s preferred destination and if he forces his way to Brooklyn, the Magic will have to settle for whatever the Nets have, besides Deron Williams. Although...
Provided Jeremy Lin remains in New York, Knicks head coach Mike Woodson said yesterday on the Michael Kay Show on ESPN Radio that the Asian-American phenomenon would be the starting point guard entering the 2012-2013 season. The strong endorsement by … Continue reading →
The Magic are quickly hurtling toward a flashpoint in their franchise's history as the Dwight Howard saga will get a final resolution this offseason. That is what team President Alex Martins has alluded to since the Magic's elimination from the postseason, vowing the team would not go through the ordeal and turmoil it went through in 2012.
He fired Stan Van Gundy and Otis...
Magic fans have not heard from Dwight Howard in a while. He has been rehabbing in Los Angeles after back surgery in April and by all accounts -- usually a stray comment from Alex Martins or a sidewalk interview with TMZ -- Howard's recovery is going fine.
There are even some rumors that Howard is going to be making his way back to Orlando soon. Who really knows, though?
Although, Jeremy Lin’s future with the New York Knicks is still 100% certain as he will have to be re-signed with the franchise (more about this HERE ) it seems New York’s head coach, Mike Woodson, is 100% confident that Lin will be back and has already made declarations when he appeared on the Michael [...]
Over the next few weeks Orlando Magic Daily will be taking a look at the things that went right and wrong this season as Orlando ended its season with a disappointing first-round loss to Indiana.
The season was a circus from the very beginning.
First there was Bob Vander Weide having a little too much fun at a party and sending an unprofessional text message or phone call to...
