Kevin Durant sank a 16-foot jumper with 1.5 seconds left to
win Game 1 of his Thunder’s playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks 99-98, but
as far as moral victories go, Dallas leads the series 1-0. The Mavs will not doubt kick themselves at
wasting the opportunity to steal home court advantage, but they proved that
they won’t be going down easily, as some familiar names kept their dream of a
repeat alive, albeit at a small flicker.
The Big Bratwurst (Nowitzki) dropped in 25, with 11 coming
in the 4th quarter, and The Matrix (Shawn Marion) chipped in with
17. But with all the talk of Oklahoma
City’s 6th man (The Beard), people seemed to have forgotten about
the Mavericks 6th, Jason Terry.
