The struggles of Dwight Howard and the Lakers don’t have anything to do with coaching changes, disagreements with Kobe Bryant, or injuries, but they have everything to do with candy.
According to ESPN.com, Howard revealed in an interview that his poor conditioning and inconsistent energy may have been the cause of some of the Lakers’ losses this season.
“You’ve got to have energy and I want to bring that energy every night,” Howard said Saturday afternoon. “That’s my job. They count on me to be that guy. I just know how much more effective I will be when I’m in better shape. And, unfortunately, it’s cost us a lot of games.”
Howard doesn’t believe he’s in the shape he was in before undergoing back surgery last spring, but extra rest over the All-Star break and a new diet he started is helping him get there.
“I’m just making sure I don’t eat as much candy and sugar so I can get in good shape,” he said. “Back when I was able to play 48 minutes, I could eat anything. B

We know that Dwight Howard likes drama. If you believe ESPN, he’s more concerned with where he’s going than where he is. We know that Dwight Howard likes missing free throws. Fine, he might not like to, but he hasn’t shot over 60% from the line since his rookie season seven years ago, including 49% over the past two seasons. One thing you might not know about...
It is time to come to the defense of Dwight Howard. Throughout the 2012-13 NBA season, Dwight Howard has been called everything but a child of God. Even when things are going well for the Lakers, Dwight Howard has to make sure he says something to annoy the Lakers fan base.
The season is 3/4 over, he should be in shape by now, but Dwight wants the world to know he still gets tired on the court and it is affecting his play.
“Coming off the injury, I only had four weeks to get ready for the season, which was training camp and...
Dwight is still talking, maybe he should be on the elliptical or something. He has mentioned several times that he still isn’t in shape, I think everyone knows that by now, so no need to keep talking about it.
This time he says the fact he can’t get in shape is one of the reasons the Lakers are still under .500.
“You’ve got to have energy and I want to bring that energy every...
Dwight Howard hasn't been a big hit with the Los Angeles Lakers so far. The team has been in disarray for most of the year and hasn't clicked at all. The Lakers are in danger of missing the playoffs and Kobe Bryant isn't happy with the losing.
Being new in town, Howard has received his fair share of blame. Howard has now accepted some of the responsibility for the...

There were numerous reports floating around last week that Spurs coach Gregg Popovich lit into and cursed Dwight Howard out during the All Star Game for not paying attention in the huddle.
Howard now is denying and disputing that claim, and according to the L.A. Times, says Popovich simply asked him why he wasn’t in the game.
“Pop was diagramming a play for me, and then as...
Dwight Howard was adamant that the reported incident with Gregg Popovich "just never happened."
LeRoyMcConnell III Leave it up to Dallas Maverick’s owner, Marc Cuban, to provide his two cents on what the 16-Time World Champion’s Los Angeles Lakers should do with their superstar Kobe Bryant. I mean don’t get me wrong Cuban just gutted his own team last season so he has some idea of what to do. Maybe its his way of reaching out to the Buss Family during trying...
Kobe Bryant guaranteed that the Lakers would make it to the playoffs this week. Coming out of the ALl-Star break and after the death of Lakers owner, Dr. Jerry Buss, the Lakers have won in two in a row. And now it’s time for your weekly, “Did Stephen A. Smith lie?” story. Last week, we had to ask did Smith lie about a misleading report about a conversation between Rudy Gay and Dwight Howard. The details didn’t add up but Smith maintains that the conversation happened.
