Seems like Dwyane Wade already has his legacy mapped out. The Miami Heat guard is ahead of his other co-stars in South Beach when it comes to ring count, after winning one in 2006 with Shaquille O’Neal. But according to Hoop Doctors, Wade told the Associated Press, that he has a certain number in mind that he feels will cement his legacy amongst the greats in the game. “I feel like I need three rings. After that, I’m playing with church’s money. I’ve always said that if I can end my career with at least three rings … I’ve already had a special career, but it would put me in that special group that only a few can say that they’re in. It would mean a lot. It would mean a lot. It would mean a lot.” It’s hard to imagine a scenario where Wade doesn’t get to three rings if the “Big Three” remain intact. Wade also says that the third ring would be for himself, as the previous two were won for players in more desperate situations than he was in Alonzo Mourning and Lebron James. “This one’s for me,” Wade said in anticipation of winning his third ring.

Let’s Slow Down On The LeBron James, Michael Jordan Comparisons

Past versus Present Before we begin let me just point out that LeBron James himself, didn’t ask for this comparison.  It’s not his fault.  Some might say he “asked” for it when he donned #23 and said he wanted to be just like Michael Jordan when he first entered the league (I’m looking at you Skip Bayless).  But if you grew up and was a NBA fan throughout the 90’s...

The Miami Heat Will Have Their Own Playoff Champagne

Because having LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on their team isn’t enough incentive for obscenely rich Miami Heat fans to get to their courtside seats on time, they’ll now be greeted with a spiffy white goblet of Moët Ice Impérial, the official champagne of Miami’s 2012-13 playoff run. Okay, we’re being a little harsh. After all, Miami fans were voted the #1 most...

Heat grab 66th win, top Magic at home

MIAMI (AP) -- Dwyane Wade successfully lobbied to play in Miami's regular-season finale, saying he wanted to get a little more work in before the playoffs begin this weekend. The Miami Heat apparently have an official champagne for the 2013 NBA Playoffs and it will be served in white goblets to those seated courtside at games.

Chris Andersen is giving Heat a huge boost

MIAMI (AP) -- It takes four losses for a team to be eliminated from the NBA postseason, as anyone who follows the league surely knows. So here's another statistic among the many that would support the reigning champion Miami Heat carrying the role of overwhelming favorite into these playoffs: Chris Andersen hasn't been part of four losses this season. Total, that is. Andersen...

Another MVP for LeBron seems likely

There has never been a unanimous MVP in the history of the NBA. Not Wilt Chamberlain, not Bill Russell, not Shaquille O'Neal, not Michael Jordan. LeBron James might soon change that. At least, the Miami Heat believe he should. After finally winning that first NBA title last June, James was better than ever in his first year as a champion. He led the league in field goals,...

So Who Can Beat the Miami Heat?

If you have watched or even casually followed the NBA this season you know one thing--the Miami Heat totally rock. Winning streak aside, there is no team that has been able to go out on the court and find a way to win quite like they have this season. But does that mean they are the easy favorite to win the NBA Finals this year? Don't bet on it! Now the easy to do would...

Friend of Ray Allen's among those hurt in marathon

If he was still a member of the Boston Celtics, Ray Allen knows exactly where he would have been when a pair of explosions rocked the Boston Marathon. He'd have been at the finish line - where the bombings occurred.
