Miami was the best offensive team in the NBA this year. Indiana was the best defensive in the NBA this year. The Heat really struggle to rebound the basketball, while the Pacers are known for dominating the glass on both ends of the floor. On paper, the Pacers have the perfect team to beat the reigning NBA champs, but it s much easier said than done.
This series comes down to one player: Dwyane Wade.
In the Eastern Conference Semifinals, Wade played abysmally. He averaged 12.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. Compared to his regular season numbers, that’s garbage. His knee must be seriously bothering him because Wade should never be scoring less than 20 points per game.
When Wade is in attack mode, the Heat are virtually unguardable. The opposing team has to help in the lane so LeBron and Wade don’t get easy dunks, which leaves sharpshooters Ray Allen, Shane Battier, and Mario Chalmers open on the perimeter for uncontested 3s.
