PLAYERS: Eddy Curry
TEAMS: Miami Heat

You might come across parking meters that last longer than the Eddy Curry experiment with the Miami Heat. That's because the ol' pork chop ain't exactly motoring up and down the hardwood. Curry, the Heat’s attempt at a reclamation project at center, missed his second consecutive practice Tuesday. He made it through his first workout with the team on Saturday but left his second practice on Sunday early and now has missed the new two sessions. The Heat say Curry has been sore and has a hip flexor after his limited work thus far. This is Curry's last chance to play in the NBA. Well, it SHOULD be his last chance to play in the NBA but considering the money being thrown at big men, I feel like someone might take a chance on him if it doesn't work out. Still, though, the jokes that Curry hoped to silence (like the pork chop remark I made 15 seconds ago) are only being reinforced. This doesn't help: [Curry] said he’d lost 70 pounds in preparation for trainin...

Heat find a way to make Eddy Curry disappear, for now

So how is Eddy Curry looking at Heat training camp? Hard to say, considering the team has done a remarkable job of making someone that large disappear. Tuesday, Curry again was out of sight at camp at AmericanAirlines Arena, and apparently will be out of mind for a few more days, as well. So far, the Heat have had five camp sessions; Curry has not yet completed two. The latest word...

SHOCKER: CHEESEBURGER EDDY CURRY FLOPPED OUT ALREADY

Well this is shocking to me. There is NO WAY IN HELL THAT I WOULD’VE THOUGHT THIS WOULD  HAPPENED. I mean this guy has ALWAYS been in tremendous shape his whole career, ALWAYS been a hard worker, ALWAYS had a sturdy head on his shoulders, NEVER eats cheeseburgers like a 80-year old high-blood pressure patient pops pills….ya know? Well according to Brian Windhorst of...

The Heat have signed 33-year old SG/SF Shane Battier to a 3-year, $9 million dollar deal.  Battier played in 82 games (59 starts) for the Rockets & Grizzlies last year and he averaged 29.0 minutes, 7.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game.  He has now played in 767 games (619 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 32.9 minutes, 9.6 points,...

LeBron James is All Black

I'm back in black T... It was a super busy day at American Airlines Arena yesterday — Aside from it being HEAT Training Camp, it was also Media Day – a day full of interviews, filming, and photo shoots….LeBron loves him some photo shoots, as you can see here by this premeditated pose…I can’t lie, those jerseys are nice. -TO The Douchebaggery Of Lebron...

Haslem Calls Foul on ICE Detention Center

Miami Heat star Udonis Haslem is calling foul on a proposed plan to put one of the nation's largest immigration detention facilities in his neighborhood. Clip Of The Day: LeBron James Asks You To Take A Sheet

LeBron James has been up to a lot of things this offseason, but perhaps none are more interesting than handing out Sheets to random people. Entrants will have 45 days to submit their own creative take [...]

Miami Heat rookie point guard Norris Cole in good graces

Rookie guard Norris Cole already has impressed Dwyane Wade by getting the ball to where the team’s best scorers are most comfortable.

In the NBA, there is chaos, then there are the Heat

At various times during Monday’s media day, Heat players were asked about Chris Paul’s impending move to the Clippers, as well as the Clippers’ failed bid to land Paul. It also was a day when Heat players were united in their desire to add Chauncey Billups, only to learn before they left AmericanAirlines Arena that Billups had unexpectedly been claimed off waivers...

NBA Weight Watchers: Kendrick Perkins, Eddy Curry, Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis & Charles Barkley

One of the things NBA fans have been on the look out for, which player was going to return from the lockout not just out of shape but seriously “chunky.” The Shawn Kemp of the 2011 lockout. Instead, it looks like exactly the opposite happened with many. A couple of the league’s notorious “fluffy” guys have returned in a more svelte package. Oklahoma...

Heat teammates at ease with Wade, Bosh, LeBron star system

Says new Heat teammate Shane Battier, "When you have good guys who are superstars, I think there's nothing but happiness for their success."

Ball Don’t Lie’s 2011-12 Season Previews: Miami Heat

Usually NBA season previews are best read in October, back when football games hardly mattered, Midnight Madness was a few weeks away, and baseball was winding down. Perhaps with the last of the offseason's iced tea in hand, as you whiled away on an too-warm-for-the-season afternoon. Well, pour yourself a glass of bull shot and tighten those mittens, because it's mid-December...
