Fox Sports Florida:
The Heat's win Sunday afternoon did more than put them a half-game up on the New York Knicks, it also meant coach Erik Spoelstra was the recipient of a special honor.
Spoelstra will coach the Eastern Conference All-Stars on Feb. 17, the NBA announced after the Heat beat Toronto 100-85 Sunday.
It will be Spoelstra's first appearance as a head coach in the NBA All-Star Game. He was an assistant for Stan Van Gundy in the 2005 game.
Spoelstra has won the NBA Coach of the Month award three times in his career, and his teams have made the postseason in each of his four seasons with the Heat.

Post Game Recap
Final Score: Kings: 81 Knicks: 120
Tonight the Knicks were able to extract some revenge from earlier in the season when they lost in Sacramento on a buzzer beater by blowing the Kings out of the Garden tonight. The game got off to a slow start, as the starters just did not have it in the beginning; it was a different story once the bench got into the game...
With the Knicks currently sitting at 29-15 (good for half a game out of first place in the Eastern Conference), Coach Mike Woodson has undoubtedly made strides with this team to help prove he's the right man to lead them to something really special.Woodson's been able to shift the Knicks' ship in the right direction by preaching higher intensity on the defensive end of...
Twenty-five-point games aren’t really anything unusual from JR Smith. He’s had seven of them this season and probably a hundred in his career. Plus the Knicks played the Kings on Saturday. If you don’t drop 25 on the Kings then you basically aren’t an offensive player of any consequence.
So, why exactly am I presenting you with the news that JR Smith scored 25 points...
The New York Knicks are KILLING the Sacramento Kings, having a nearly 50-point lead on the defunct team including 41-point and 31-point quarters. J.R. Smith is having a terrific game with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 0 turnovers, and this nifty celebration. H/T The Knicks Wall The post J.R. Tyson Chandler tied a franchise record with his third straight 20-rebound game, Carmelo Anthony scored 27 points, and the New York Knicks beat the Detroit Pistons 99-85 on Monday night for their fifth consecutive victory.
In a game that was decided early, Chandler played long enough to grab his 20th rebound midway through the fourth quarter. After grabbing 20 in victories on Friday...

Earlier this week, the Knicks spent the day in Newtown, Connecticut (photos/videos) – showing their support to the grieving community nearly two months after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. For the second time this week, the team will gather with the community – only this time the Knicks are hosting.

Kings @ Knicks: MSG 730pm
The Knicks look to improve to 4-0 on their current home stand facing the visiting Sacramento Kings, who will soon become the Seattle Supersonics. With a win, the Knicks would tie Miami for the first seed in the East. The Kings come in as losers in 6 of their last 7 games. Most importantly, the Knicks need to avenge their one point loss earlier this...
Tweet With Rajon Rondo’s torn ACL removing him from the NBA All-Star game, Brook Lopez was recently announced as his replacement on the roster. However, what has yet to be addressed is who will take Rondo’s spot in the starting lineup for the Eastern Conference. Many people believed that Cavs guard Kyrie Irving was the [...]
Take a look back at Mount Carmel High (Ill.) junior defensive end Enoch Smith Jr., in the 8A State Championship game in Champaign.
James White has always been a tremendous dunker. Hardcore NBA fans are well aware of his ridiculous hops and would love to see him in the dunk contest. According to the Twitter feed of Miami Herald’s Heat beat writer:
Dwyane Wade, captain of East All-Stars for Saturday night, indicated that Knicks guard James (@flight8) White will be in the dunk contest.

NEW YORK -- Tyson Chandler had endured his coach ripping into him and the New York Knicks center responded by tying a franchise record, grabbing 20 rebounds in three straight games. Along with teammate Carmelo Anthony's 27 points, Chandler's prowess on the boards had just helped the Knicks beat the Detroit Pistons 99-85 at Madison Square Garden on Monday night. New York...
After spending plenty of time on the road the last few weeks, the Miami Heat will likely be happy to return home on Monday.
That's when they will open a five-game homestand against the slumping Charlotte Bobcats, who will try to end a three-game losing streak after dealing with a scary injury in its last defeat.
Miami, which already defeated Charlotte 105-92 on Dec. 26, has...

They did it again. The Pacers beat the Miami Heat. At home. In another tough, physical game. And still without star forward Danny Granger.
And this time, the Heat knew what to expect. Head Coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters they watched film from their last meeting again on Friday morning.
“It was eye opening…similar...
