Found November 14, 2013 on Fightin For Philly:

The Sixers’ leading scorer has -$48.81 in his checking account. This information comes from his Instagram, as he took a picture of his receipt. That’s what basketball has come to in Philadelphia. Obviously, Turner has more money than this. He either hasn’t transferred enough money from savings to checking, or has a couple bank accounts. Turner — who will be a free agentis in line for a good pay check next season if he keeps up his solid play. He’s averaging 23 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game this season while shooting a career best 49% from the field.

Instagram problems for 76ers' Turner

Recently, Philadelphia 76ers guard Evan Turner posted a photo on Instagram showing a negative balance in his bank account. This was amusing, because Turner plays in the NBA and is (by my logic) a millionaire -- but a key element in this story is that Turner posted the photo presumably for the purpose of amusing his followers with the irony. It was accompanied by this message: "...

What to do with Evan Turner and playoff possibility

Coming into the season, the plan for Evan Turner seemed to be understood. Turner’s job was to pile in the points per game, and show that he could be a viable offensive option, in turn increase his trade value while the Sixers struggled through this season. The problem is the Sixers aren’t struggling, at all. In the beginning of the season, the idea of the Sixers making the playoffs...

Evan Turner Would Like You To Think His Bank Account Isn’t Exactly Doing So Well…

Full disclosure, we have no confirmation if this is Evan’s actual account or not.  We do know that Evan Turner did post this image of a ATM receipt on his Instagram account with a caption which reads : ”Bank account look like im ready for early retirement…” It is pretty hard to believe that he is this bad at managing money, especially considering he will make $6,679,866...

Sixers Tony Wroten has historic triple-double in his NBA first start

9 games into their 2013-14 season, who would’ve thought the Philadelphia 76ers would find themselves atop the Atlantic Division? No one. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Tony Wroten became the first player (since stats were kept in 1970) to have a triple-double in his first NBA start tonight. The 20-year old guard chipped in 18 points, 11 assists, and 10 boards to the Sixers’...

Rookie Carter-Williams out for 76ers

Rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams did not play for the Philadelphia 76ers against Houston on Wednesday night because of a bruised arch in his left foot. Carter-Williams is averaging 17.4 points, 7.6 assists and 5.4 rebounds. He had his worst game in a loss to San Antonio on Monday night, scoring just eight points on 2-for-11 shooting. Tony Wroten started in his place....

Losing is the New Winning

“Good loss today boys” says your coach, as you respond “Thanks coach, we really did our worst today!” In what parallel universe would this conversation be okay? Well as you may know, this sad reality is almost exactly what the Philadelphia 76ers are facing.   This 2013 season is all about winning later, rather than now. This is a hard concept to grasp for some Philadelphians...

The Sixers Will Probably Beat ATL Tonight, & That’s Okay

Steven M. Falk // Philly.com The Sixers are in The Big Peach this evening, getting ready to duke it out with the national basketball association’s quintessential “meh” franchise, the Atlanta Hawks. And don’t look now, hoops fans, but these two juggernauts are currently clinging to the 3rd & 4th seeds in the Eastern Conference. Now who saw that one coming? Not you. I mean...

76ers-Pelicans Preview

Despite trading away their best player, the Philadelphia 76ers surprised many with an impressive start this season. But with one of the league's most inexperienced rosters, reality appears to be setting in. Former 76ers guard Jrue Holiday will try to hand them their sixth loss in eight games Saturday night as they visit the New Orleans Pelicans. On the heels of seventh-, eighth...
