Denver Nuggets are set to cut Corey Higgins and Michael Ruffin, a source in the organization has revealed to SLAMonline exclusively.
Higgins and Ruffin were invited to the Nuggets’ short training camp and will be released from the team shortly.
The team was scheduled to cut Higgins and Ruffin on Tuesday but delayed it till now.
Higgins scored nine points in both preseason games with Denver, while Ruffin did not play either games. Nuggets won both preseason games.
Higgins an undrafted rookie from University of Colorado was one three players (along with Ruffin and Julyan Stone) thought to be targets for cut.
Head coach George Karl tipped his hand after the Nuggets first preseason game.
It was quite obvious at the press conference that coach Karl would keep point guard Julyan Stone.
Karl was impressed with Stone’s performance and compared his effective play to drafted rookie Kenneth Faried.
