The Los Angeles Clippers got trounced by the San Antonio Spurs in their first game back from the All-Star break on Thursday, but there was still reason to celebrate at Staples Center despite the 116-90 loss. During halftime, Hagop Blikian, a first-year season-ticket holder sporting a Jamal Crawford jersey, nailed a half-court shot to win a Dodge Dart, making him the second fan in just over a year to win a vehicle at Staples. Last April, Chance Lavitch celebrated his 21st birthday by hitting the same shot to win a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Chris Paul Tried to Get Kevin Garnett to Waive His No-Trade Clause, KG Declined

Apparently, Chris Paul is in charge of the Clippers front office (he would probably be better than some of the people they have had in the past). According the Bleacher Report, CP3 tried to get KG to waive his no-trade clause so he could be dealt to LA, but KG wasn’t having it. Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald found that Chris Paul spoke to KG prior to the deadline and made...

Chris Paul called Kevin Garnett to convince him to join the Clippers

Chris Paul wasn’t opposed to Celtics Kevin Garnett joining the Clippers at the trade deadline. Chris did what most superstar players do, call up the potential player to entice him. This time though, it didn’t work. According to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald, Paul reached out to Garnett prior to the trade deadline and made him a sweet offer: if KG wanted to join the Clippers...

Chris Paul Did His Best To Woo Kevin Garnett

Having gone through the David Stern/Lakers debacle recently, Chris Paul understands the importance and fragile nature of trades extremely well. Knowing that having Kevin Garnett on the Clippers would be a massive step towards a possible NBA Finals run, CP3 did everything he could to try and get KG over to Los Angeles prior to the NBA trade deadline. Unfortunately CPS’s efforts...

Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs Clippers

The matchup of the game when the San Antonio Spurs (43-12) visit the Los Angeles Clippers (39-17) will be between Tony Parker and Chris Paul. Both men are the heart of their teams' offense, which will play a huge part tonight. Both players are having incredible seasons with Paul averaging 16.6ppg and 9.6rpg while Parker is having an impressive MVP like season with 21ppg and...

Kevin Garnett reportedly decided to remain a Celtic despite an offer to join the Clippers from Chris Paul

Nothing of real note happened at Thursday’s NBA trade deadline. JJ Reddick moved to Milwaukee and the Rockets got Thomas Robinson for next to nothing, but other than that, there were no real headlines. The biggest headline was who didn’t get traded. Eric Bledsoe stayed put. Josh Smith stayed put. And neither Paul Pierce nor Kevin Garnett got dealt. It’s unclear if there were...

TNT’s Craig Sager is one of the most recognizable sideline reporters in all of sports. Known for his unique and colorful suits, he’s hard to miss. Over the years, Sager has had some memorable encounters during in-game and postgame interviews, with most of them centering around his one-of-a-kind wardrobe. Report: Kevin Garnett Told by Chris Paul That He Could Make Trade to Clippers Happen, But Garnett Said No

Everyone listen close now: This man bleeds green! While Kevin Garnett was emphatic in the days leading up to the NBA trade deadline that he did not want to play for anyone but Boston, that didn’t keep other teams from trying to make a move for him. That included the Clippers, who were among the prime trade partners, with Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan reportedly on the block in...

CP3 Called Kevin Garnett Asking Him If He Wanted To Be A Clipper Prior To Deadline

Prior to Thursday’s deadline, Chris Paul gave Kevin Garnett a ring to ask if he wanted to come play in LA, where he owns an offseason Malibu home. KG rebuffed the offer, like he says, he bleeds green and dies green. According to the Boston Herald: According to a league source, Paul called Garnett and said that if he was open to joining the Clippers, then Paul would make it happen...

Video: ESPN debates TP vs. CP3. Who do you got?

ESPN's Skip Bayless hasn't been shy about his love for the Spurs. He's even gone so far as saying that they're "his" San Antonio Spurs, so it won't come as a surprise that a player in a silver and black jersey gets his nod for NBA MVP this season. On the February 21 show of the network's show "First Take," the question of who would...

Parker, Spurs dominate Clippers in Los Angeles

Looking back to Sunday in Houston, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker and Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul shared the floor together representing the Western Conference All-Stars. On a national stage, with all All-Star teammates, Paul won the All-Star MVP award with 20 points and 15 assists in a game that presented very little defense. On Thursday, on national television...

8 a.m. ET: Everybody is on the clock. The NBA trade deadline arrives Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, marking the last chance this season for teams to add that last pivotal player to put them over the hump — or to dump that extra salary or free-agent-to-be before it is too late. The Pretend Clip Show

Like the real guys, two dimensional So I tuned in the late NBA game tonight, hoping to see a good battle with the West's #1 seed on the road against the third-ranked Clippers. It was the Clip Show's first game after the all star break, with their ridiculously loaded roster at full strength, in a national game against an opponent that swept them when they were hurt in last...

KG turned down CP's Pitch, Eternally Bleeds Green

Kevin Garnett has been steadfast in saying that he was committed to the Celtics and would not consider leaving. The future Hall of Famer has never liked change, so when it came time for him to make the decision to stay in Boston or not - and it did - he chose Boston. That is despite even the sales pitch he received from All-Star Chris Paul, who reportedly called KG before the deadline...
