Beyond The Buzzer:
Rudy Fernandez most recently played in the NBA for the Denver Nuggets in 2011-12, where the guard averaged 8.6 points, 2.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 31 games. Following the season, the Spain native decided to return to Real Madrid, where he’s been stirring up trouble recently. Real Madrid played against the Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania Thursday where Fernandez was punched by a fan after the game, but the bad blood between these two teams began January 11th, when they last played.
Here’s how it all began (via Ben Golliver, Blazers Edge).
Following a made free throw in the final seconds of January 11th’s game in Real Madrid, Rudy Fernandez threw the basketball off of opponent, Ksistof Lavrinovic’s, head. As if that didn’t provoke the Zalgiris Kaunas enough, Fernandez said something to Paulius Jankunas as he walked past him after the game, prompting a shoving match between the teams.
Well, the two teams met for a rematch Thursday, only this time the game was in Lithuania. And as the...

Rudy Fernandez was punched in the face by a Lithuanian fan following Real Madrid's 105-104 win over Zalgiris Kaunas on Thursday.
Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee had a monster block on a layup attempt by Los Angeles Clippers forward Matt Barnes in the third quarter of Thursday night's 107-92 victory at the Pepsi Center. After McGee swatted the ball out of bounds, he grabbed the ball and pretended to autograph it for posterity.
McGee only played 14 minutes in the game and had no points, but certainly...
The Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night, 107-92, as Denver used their homecourt, athleticism, and fresh legs to their advantage. JaVale McGee was the player that the ‘Inside The NBA” cast interviewed post-game, and as we should expect the unexpected with McGee, the same rang true when he called Shaqtin-A-Fool something [...]The post JaVale McGee...
For so long, Wilson Chandler has seemed to provide only a glimpse of his vast talents, like the tattoo of his daughter that peeks above the neckline of his jersey.
Chandler did it all at DePaul — which could have been a pretty cool title for a player of the year campaign. (“Wilson Chandler does it all, at DePaul! Sponsored by Nike!”) But he never led the Blue Demons beyond...
This video below is the exact reason why Shaquille O’Neal will forever go after Denver Nuggets center Javale McGee. He makes it so easy.
McGee may not have scored any points, during the Nuggets 107-92 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, but that didn’t matter so much because McGee was a star in his own right.
After swatting away what appeared to be an easy lap up attempt by...
Thursday night’s Nuggets-Clippers game is a fast-pace dunk contest. Anyone surprised? As announcer Ian Eagle said of the dunk from Nuggets’ Wilson Chandler, “A grown man move at the rim.”
Chandler’s two handed ****-back slam made the Nuggets bench react like this:

When listing off the contenders for the Western Conference title, you have got the Oklahoma City Thunder, the San Antonio Spurs, probably the Los Angeles Clippers and I might even give you the Memphis Grizzlies. But despite their 41-22 record, including an astounding 27-3 at home, nobody is really jumping on the Denver Nuggets bandwagon. Point guard Ty Lawson says despite the...
The Denver Nuggets have been kind of good lately, and Wilson Chandler has been a big part of that. Since returning from a sore hip, Chandler has made the deep and athletic Nuggets even more deep and athletic. Just a week ago, he scored 35 points in a win over Oklahoma City.
Nobody on the Clippers bothered to stop the ball when Chandler got it on a fast break on Thursday...
Leave it to TNT’s Inside the NBA host Ernie Johnson, to be the saver of awkward moments.
Last night, Nuggets center JaVale McGee appeared on Inside the NBA for a brief interview with his friendenemy and frequent critic Shaquille O’Neal. After scoring zero points, two rebounds and two blocks in 14 minutes of play during the Denver Nuggets 107-92 win over the Los Angeles Clippers...
While the Denver Nuggets' home winning streak already is quite impressive, the quality of competition they've faced during the run makes it even more noteworthy.
It likely won't be easy adding the surging Los Angeles Clippers to that list.
Denver seeks a 12th straight home win Thursday night against a Los Angeles team that has won five straight road games.

The Denver Nuggets are on the verge of securing their longest single-season home win streak in 24 years, and a matchup with a last-place opponent would appear to provide just the opportunity to accomplish that feat.
The Minnesota Timberwolves, though, are one of the few teams to win in Denver this season and will seek another victory there Saturday night while trying to record their...
