Duke graduate Seth Curry is now a member of the Golden State Warriors.  The Warriors signed Seth on August 23rd to a nonguaranteed contract.  This could be one of the best places Seth could have gone, and it puts every player from last year’s senior class in the NBA. Seth will be joining his brother Stephen Curry, who is the starting point guard for the Warriors.  This could be a great situation for Seth Curry; joining his brother will give him some familiarity with the team, but also it puts him in a good situation to make the team. The Warriors are a team that wants to stretch the floor and as Duke fans know, Seth can do that.  He is a deadly shooter from long distance, shooting 46.5 percent from long distance a season ago, and that was while enduring a right shin injury. Seth will be looking to play one of the guard positions for the Warriors, either backing up his brother at point or looking to play the shooting guard position.  The Warriors did lose Jarrett Jack in free agency, but signed Toney Douglas this offseason. This won’t be an easy team to make, but if he can, it’s one of the best situations for him.  This is a team that is looking to improve on their playoff run a year ago.  This team has a great starting backcourt in Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, but is definitely looking to improve their bench.  Their bench doesn’t have anyone who could stretch the floor like Seth Curry, so that could be a way for him to make the team. Seth Curry will be able to shoot on any team in the NBA, but with his brother there it might push him enough and help him along to make the team this season.  Seth Curry will have to show that his leg injury was a big factor last season at Duke to show the Warriors how much he has improved. Seth Curry might not make the Warriors, but it would be a great situation for him if he does.  Another option that might be available to Seth is if he goes down to the D-league for a season to work on his game.  This is a great situation for Seth, a team that could use a shooter off the bench and it could pay out dividends in a few years for both the Warriors and Seth.
