Fox Sports Kansas City:
Laurie Koehn made it rain.
No, not with money in the club a la Pacman Jones. Koehn preferred the three-point variety.
The former Kansas State womens basketball standout was back in Manhattan recently working out at team facilities when she put on a clinic from behind the three point line.
132 shots from the top of the arc. 134 makes. In 5 minutes. For you mathletes out there, thats a 98.5 clip. Not too shabby.
To put Koehns streak in perspective, Kobe Bryant also made 132 3s this season. But it took 407 attempts. Granted he wasnt gift wrapped open shots from the top of the key, but still. Kevin Durrant stepped to the free throw line 750 times this season with nobody defending him and only (league leader) made 90.5 of his shots. The NBAs top shooter from deep this season was Jose Calderon at 46. Weak.
Step your game up, boys.
After graduating from Kansas State, Koehn took her talents to the next level. She has spent 5 seasons in the WNBA, most recently with Atlanta. In he...

A federal judge in California has ruled an auction house cannot sell, destroy or otherwise dispose of Kobe Bryant memorabilia offered by the NBA star's mother while courts sort out where the case should be decided.
The case revolves around a spat between Bryant and his mother and is playing out coast to coast and in more courts than a playoff series.
According to a court filing...
The rift between Kobe Bryant and his mother, Pamela just got kicked up about five levels. Kobe claims that Pam stole some of the memorabilia items she sold to an auction house last January. The Auction sued Kobe for attempting to block the sale of the items. Kobe has now counter-sued Goldin Auctions, claiming that the estimated $1.5 million worth of high school items were lifted...
Vanessa Bryant celebrated her 31st birthday on May 5th. Even though her husband, Kobe Bryant is hobbled by recovery from his ruptured Achilles, he made sure to plan an elegant birthday dinner to surprise his wife. Kobe planned an intimate dinner party for family and friends. Plus flew in one of Vanessa’s favorite chefs, Fabrizio de Togni, from her favorite restaurant in Milan,...
This is very weird situation with Kobe and his mom. His mom seems to be upset that Vanessa’s mom got a bigger house that she has, so her way of getting payback, is stealing Kobe’s stuff and auctioning them off.
I don’t know the inner workings of the Bryant family, but regardless of what is going on behind the scenes, that seems a bit petty on her part.
Kobe is suing his mom...
In response to his bloodsucking mother, Pamela, arranging to peddle $450,000 worth of memorabilia to Goldin Auctions, Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant is in court battling to regain the hundreds of items before the June sale occurs. Selected by the Charlotte Hornets 13th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft, the bulk of mementos come from Bryant’s playing days at Lower Merion High...
We wonder why athletes abuse alcohol, self-medicate with marijuana, coke, groupies and hookers, extend/enhance their careers with PEDs, go broke shortly after they retire, and then we learn that Kobe Bryant and his mother are embroiled in a nasty lawsuit over his childhood memorabilia.
She wants an "additional" home in Nevada and a $450,000 down payment. Kobe countered...
Personally, the best that I’ve ever done for a girlfriend on their birthday is taking them to a nice Italian restaurant but Lakers star Kobe Bryant brought an Italian chef to cook his wife Vanessa, a special birthday dinner.
Vanessa turned 31 over the weekend and Kobe surprised her with a special birthday dinner that can be seen in the below image via his Twitter account:
Guys--correct me if I am wrong, but our wives/girlfriends like to claim that it is not the price tag on the gift that counts, but the thought right? As long as it is something that is from the heart and really shows that we care they are cool with it (supposedly).
So we do it. We put our hearts and soul into coming up with the right gift that says what we feel, but doesn&...
Kobe Bryant was able to put his surgically-repaired left foot on the ground without a cast or walking boot for the very first time.
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) -- Kobe Bryant says in a court filing that he never gave his mother permission to sell mementos from his high school days and early professional basketball career.
Bryant is in a court battle over whether hundreds of items can be auctioned off.
Pamela Bryant says the NBA star told her the memorabilia was hers. She arranged earlier this year to auction it off through...
Seems like an open and shut case to me. It is Kobe’s stuff so if he doesn’t want it to go to auction, his mom shouldn’t be allowed to do it.
The judge agrees with Bean for now.
TMZ has learned a judge issued a temporary restraining order against Goldin Auctions, prohibiting them from selling Kobe’s jerseys, championship rings, trophies, and lots of other stuff until a full...
Kobe Bryant claimed in court filings submitted Wednesday that he never gave his mother permission to sell memorabilia from his early basketball career.

I think championship should be an expectation. Realistically we have enough talent here that there will be enough to where our goal is a championship.
