Now that we have a season once again, it comes time to fill out the roster before the start of the season. Currently the Boston Celtics have 6 able bodies under contract (Garnett, Pierce, Allen, Rondo, Jermaine O’Neal, and Avery Bradley), 1 restricted free agent (Uncle Jeff) and 1 retired veteran (Sheed) who is still costing Wyc money. The Celtics have a total of $54,867,622 tied into the 6 able bodies and $66,267,129 if they hold onto Jeff Green. This means that the Celtics will need to find 5 or 6 bodies to start the up coming shortened season. Two spots will be easy and cheap to fill in.  The Celtics have to sign the draftees JaJuan Johnson and E’Twaun Moore from this past year’s 2011 NBA Draft.  Both players are four-year college starters coming out of Purdue University. I am a huge fan of these draft picks because I believe polished players fit better with veterans opposed to youth and upside. Without knowing the new rookie scale, the last year’s scale would pay JaJuan Johnso...

One on One Debate: Allen Iverson a Boston Celtic?

During the beginning part of the 2009-2010 NBA season, my co-host and partner on this site, Nick Gelso and I collaborated on an article debating whether or not Allen Iverson would be a good fit with the Boston Celtics. Obviously, nothing ever happened and AI never had the chance of playing in a Celtics uniform. [...]

Re-Signing Jeff Green, Evaluating Backcourt Among Celtics' Top Post-Lockout Issues (Photos)

The NBA is -- tentatively -- on its way back, which means the Celtics drive for an 18th championship begins Dec. 9, when abbreviated training camps and the free-agent signing period are expected to open. With Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo, the Celtics will be among the favorites in the Eastern Conference during the regular season, but beyond those top four...

For any basketball fan, the news this morning was the best Black Friday deal anyone could have asked for. The NBA lockout is going to come to an end. One last chance to see Rajon Rondo throw an alley-oop...

Veterans are up to speed

When Celtics coach Doc Rivers walked past Ray Allen at an Orlando-area celebrity golf tournament in October, he might have wanted to use mental telepathy to tell his shooting guard to stay in shape in case the NBA lockout ended.
