Wilson Chandler is going to need a permission slip from FIBA to play immediately in the NBA. Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the China Basketball Association has denied Chandler's letter of clearance. Chandler will appeal the denial, and Wojnarowski writes that his source believes a resolution will come in the next week.

This delay is just another roadblock for Chandler owners. Be patient. Even though there are rumors that Chandler could sit out the season and wait for a better deal in the summer, it could just be a play for leverage by Chandler's agent to get a longer-term deal.

Speaking of leverage, Chandler reportedly met with the Toronto Raptors. For fantasy owners, a Raptors-Chandler match would be preferable. Despite Denver being stocked with twos and threes, the Nuggets might not be a bad destination for Chandler. The Nuggets need healthy bodies, and Chandler knows George Karl's system.  In 21 games with the Nuggets, Chandler averaged 12.5 points (41.9 percent FG and 81 percent FT), 5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, .7 steals, 1.1 blocks and 1.8 turnovers. He also hit 26 threes. (His numbers did take a dip after being traded by New York.)

Here's where things get dicey: March 1 is the deadline for Chandler to sign an offer sheet with a team other than the Nuggets. Chandler can only sign with Denver after the March 1 deadline.

Hold tight and hope this situation resolves itself soon. Chandler is owned in just 10 percent of Yahoo leagues and 19.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
