Hoop Fantasies Fantasy Basketball Blog:
Wilson Chandler could be back in the league soon (NBA).
Wilson Chandler's freedom to play in the NBA may be coming really soon.
Hoopsworld's Alex Kennedy tweeted that Chandler's Chinese Basketball Association team, the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions, have been eliminated from the playoffs
. Kennedy also wrote that Chandler's agent met with Denver Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri last night
, and the two continue to talk about a long-term deal. He's a restricted free agent, so he's Denver's to lose.
Keep holding tight to Chandler with an eye to the March 1 deadline to sign an offer sheet with another franchise. Answers to his status look to be less than a week away.
Wilson Chandler is going to need a permission slip from FIBA to play immediately in the NBA. Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the China Basketball Association has denied Chandler's letter of clearance. Chandler will appeal the denial, and Wojnarowski writes that his source believes a resolution will come in the next week.
This delay is just another roadblock...
What's up with Wilson? That's the common question from Nuggets fans heading into the rest of this NBA season — will the Nuggets lock up Wilson Chandler to a long-term deal?
When injuries hit the Nuggets hard during the first half of the season, it provided an opportunity for rookies Julyan Stone, Kenneth Faried and Jordan Hamilton. The on-the-job training has produced mixed results, but the three young players have gained valuable experience in the process.
The Nuggets will return to practice on Tuesday (they play Wednesday versus Portland), so in the meantime, here’s my surely insightful, minute-long take on the Oscars:
- Andre Miller is cold, Benjamin has a cold
- Nuggets are like Wu-Tang, family of Rutherford B. Hayes “celebrates”
And please “like”...
