BEST OF MAXIM
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“Jason Collins, for getting one point and two rebounds, had an amazing impact on the game for us,” said Celtics coach Doc Rivers.
His ability to defend the post and draw charges not only provided a much-needed...
The Boston Celtics have released a press release to the media informing them that they have recalled Kris Joseph from the Maine Red Claws. The Celtics have once again recalled Kris Joseph from their D-League affiliate Red Claws. They certainly are using the new unlimited recall rules this year to their advantage. Since I haven'...
Doc Rivers has changed his rotations this week. Two players impacted have been Chris Wilcox and Jeff Green. Wilcox registered a DNP last night as Doc gave Jason Collins the starting center role. Doc seems to have listened to me and has started using Green almost exclusively as the backup small forward the past two games. For one reason or another Green can not defend 4's and...
Fab Melo Blocks 14 Shots for Red Claws Boston Celtics rookie center Fab Melo, who was selected with the 22nd overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, broke an NBA Developmental League record Saturday night by tallying 14 blocks in a single game. Melo also scored 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, completing a [...]
Rajon Rondo spent the early part of this season stalking Magic Johnson‘s record of 46 straight games with double-digit assists. Rondo took the streak so seriously he allowed himself to be kept in the game into the final minute of a loss in Detroit just to notch that decisive 10th assist to keep his run alive.
Rondo’s streak eventually ended at 37 games, which tied John Stockton...
I know it's part of the NBA collective bargaining agreement for players to do a lot of this charity stuff, but I still love seeing it. Nice to see this side of Kevin Garnett as well.
Celtics' center had his best game as a pro, putting up a monster triple double of 15 points, 16 rebounds and 14 blocks to earn him Player of the Game honors. But it wasn't enough as the Red Claws (7-4) lost to the Bayhawks (6-4) 85-78. Fab's triple double is just the 3rd in Red Claws history and his 14 blocks set a new D-League record.
Fellow Celtic, Kris Joseph...
Jason Terry left no doubt. He was taking a little shot at LeBron James.
Terry spoke to the media following the Celtics’ 103-91 win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday, and he wasn’t shy about heaping praise on teammate Paul Pierce, who exploded for 40 points in the victory. Terry, a veteran of 14 NBA seasons, appreciates Pierce’s staying power.
“Not a lot of guys in this league...
Despite another huge game from Paul Pierce, the C’s could not put away the Bucks last night. Milwaukee wins the season series 3-1 after their 99-94 win.
The Celtics are off until Christmas Day when they have a rematch with the Brooklyn Nets. Tip-off is at Noon EST. Here are some pics & GIFs via HoopChina from last night’s game. Also added some KG singing/playing Connect Four...
As NESN Daily‘s Jamison Coyle points out, if the Milwaukee Bucks played the Celtics 82 times, they’d be NBA champions.
Fortunately for Boston that’s not how the league works. The Bucks definitely have the Celtics’ number, however, beating them for the third time on the season Friday. Paul Pierce was the lone bright spot for Boston, going for 35 points in the overtime loss...
Bucks have told guard Brandon Jennings, a restricted free agent next summer, they plan on matching an offer sheet he could sign.

8 a.m. ET: The Celtics have just about had enough of the Milwaukee Bucks.
The pesky Bucks and their lightning-fast backcourt of Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis have caused all sorts of problems for the Celtics this season. The Bucks (13-11) have won two of three meetings already against the C’s (13-12), and they had a run of five wins in six games before they fell to the Grizzlies...
Celtics (26-7) vs. Spurs (17-16)
December 21, 1979
The Celtics continued their hot streak as they hosted the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night at the Garden. The C’s hit the glass, ran the break, and moved the ball exceptionally well in a lopsided 133-114 victory. The win marked the 27th victory for the Celtics, and improved their winning streak to seven games...

lead late in regulation.
