Found June 26, 2013 on Celtics Spot:
Going into the 2009 NBA Draft, Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics had very low expectations. The franchise only had one selection that year and it didn't help that the pick was the 58th overall. But that's the price you have to pay when you trade draft picks for established talent in years prior. Had Ainge not traded for Kevin Garnett, the Minnesota Timberwolves wouldn't have had the Celtics' 28th overall pick. Plus, without KG that pick could have both remained in Boston and been a lottery selection.  Draft: 2009 Picks: (2)58 (2)58. Lester Hudson, PG Tennessee-Martin To say that there were slim pickings by the time the Celtics went on the clock would be a severe understatement. However there was one guy that had a very intriguing history as a college basketball player and that man was Lester Hudson. Hudson is probably best known as being the first player in NCAA Division I history to record a quadruple-double. It was in a game against Central Baptist Coll...

Short video just uploaded by the Celtics. Here's some more from Ainge on Olynyk, as Danny creates a new scouting term: "Quick mind": Ainge: "Kelly Olynyk can shoot, pass. Grading Each Draft of the Danny Ainge Era: 2010

The 2010 NBA Draft class was kind of confusing to assess. Experts didn't know whether to consider it deep or shallow due to the fact that after the lottery there wasn't too much to pick from. Because of that Danny Ainge wasn't exactly sitting pretty with the number 19 overall pick but at the same time it was a decent selection to possess. Besides, any first round pick...

Grading Each Draft of the Danny Ainge Era: 2011

The 2011 NBA draft was filled with some of the top young stars we have in the Association today. The problem? Most of them were off the board by the end of the lottery, per usual, and Danny Ainge wouldn't even be making a selection in the top 20. Ainge and the Boston Celtics were going to need the luck of the Irish if they wanted a top-tier talent to fall to them. Unfortunately...

Grading Each Draft of the Danny Ainge Era: 2012

Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics had three picks to work with in last year's draft and it was the first time they owned that many selections since 2005. But with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett not getting any younger, the Celtics needed to begin injecting their roster with young talent. And what better way to do that than via the draft? So without further ado, I present the...

Your Morning Dump… Where I’m still trying to wrap my head around the big trade

(Image courtesy: Bleacher Report) Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. In return, the Celtics will acquire valuable draft picks and millions of dollars in payroll flexibility to begin their rebuilding process. Earlier in the week, Ainge acquired the Los...
