Memphis had a Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace confirmed Thursday withdrew its 2 million qualifying offer from backup center Hamed Haddadi, a 7-footer who hails from Iran. Haddadi, 26, is now an unrestricted free agent, and can sign with any NBA team without the Grizzlies having a right to match offers.
In three seasons with the Grizzlies, Haddadi appeared in 86 games during that time, averaging 2.2 points and 2.2 rebounds.
The Grizzlies are now 0-11 in season openers since moving to Memphis, and have 19 of the last 25 regular season games to Spurs, the team the Grizzlies eliminated in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs last season.
