Found November 01, 2012 on Razzball Basketball:
In terms of actual acquisition versus projected round/value, James Harden was one of the top three players in any draft I participted in. People were anxious to get a hold of the great bearded one. Why? Well, last night was a reason why. Harden put up 37 points, including 4 of 10 from downtown, plus 12 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and a block. LeBron James can retire, I think we just found the MVP (of week 1). If Harden continues to produce lines even close to this, I have a feeling anyone that covers real or fantasy basketball will write an entire book of commentary on this guy before the season is over. Speaking of books, November marks the beginning of National Novel Writing Month, which genuinely has the worst acronym in modern history (NANOWRIMO). Just for fun, I once started to write a novel (not for this project) and sort of lost interest about three chapters in, and then the television show Hell on Wheels came out a few years later and I felt like I could never really get ...

Heat get their rings in glitzy ceremony

LeBron James held his index finger aloft, then turned and took a walk nine years in the making. A few moments later, a championship ring - finally - was his. James and the Miami Heat celebrated their NBA title once again Tuesday night, with the ring-and-banner ceremony replete with an indoor fireworks show that immediately preceded their season opener against the Boston Celtics...

LeBron James getting an Olympic banner from Heat

LeBron James is getting another banner. To commemorate James' role in helping the U.S. men's basketball team win gold at this past summer's London Olympics, the Miami Heat will unveil a banner in his honor Saturday before they play the Denver Nuggets. It will be displayed alongside three others for players who won Olympic gold as members of the Heat - Dwyane Wade, Alonzo...

Miami Heat stars have mixed emotions on playing the Knicks in the wake of hurricane

Leandro Barbosa Shines, LeBron James Gets His Ring and Other Impressions From Loss to Heat

The Celtics have some problems, as their opening night loss to the Miami Heat made clear. One of those problems involves having far more quality guards than Doc Rivers can fit in his rotation, although that is the problem the coach is least likely to complain about. A quiet bench was due to join the listless defense and directionless offense as culprits in Boston...

Cavs owner regrets guaranteeing title

Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert wishes he could take back that guarantee about winning an NBA title before LeBron James. When James left Cleveland for Miami as a free agent in July 2010, Gilbert famously predicted in a letter to fans that his Cavs would win a championship before James got one with the Heat. Well, that ended in June when James led Miami to a finals win over Oklahoma...

Heat-Knicks Preview

LeBron James and the champs. Opening night at Madison Square Garden. Under normal circumstances, as electric a scene as there is in the NBA. Things are still far from normal in New York. Already postponed once by Superstorm Sandy, the New York Knicks will begin their season Friday night against the Miami Heat, not sure what to expect when they take the floor but hoping it helps...

James Harden: "Foundational" Player?

The big news in the NBA world (other than the season starting tonight - YIPPEE!!) is of course the Oklahoma City Thunder trading away one of their "Big Three" to the Houston Rockets.  When James Harden and the Thunder ended up being a measly (relatively speaking) $6 million over four years apart contract negotiations, OKC thought they better ship The Bearded One out to...

Heat 120, Celtics 107

MIAMI -- LeBron James didn't appear tired, Dwyane Wade's knee looked just fine, and new addition Ray Allen came off the bench to give the Heat another potent threat. And just as importantly, Chris Bosh, Miami's sometimes forgotten star, delivered a big finish. On a night the Heat celebrated their 2011-2012 NBA title with a ring ceremony, their championship defense...

Heat Day Video: 'Big 3' win it all

After "The Decision," Chris Bosh signing with the Heat and the circus of an introduction of the Heat's new "Big 3," LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade were put under the microscope and faced tons of criticism. After a rocky first year together, heading into their second season as a group, the pressure was on - win a title or suffer a huge backlash and...

Heat have mixed feelings about Friday's game

NEW YORK (AP) -- Dwyane Wade thinks the NBA should have postponed Miami's game at New York on Friday night, while LeBron James is "50-50" over whether the game should be played. With New York hit hard by Superstorm Sandy, the Knicks' game scheduled for Thursday in Brooklyn was postponed, and Heat players thought theirs would follow. Instead, they flew from Miami...

The NBA Is Back… Somebody Tell The Lakers

The NBA is BACK baby and so are the daily notes.  This morning, fantasy owners were greeted by their players with a trick or treat.  Oh LeBron James (26/10/3/2, 2 3PM), a snickers bar!  Thank you Rajon Rondo (20/7/14, 9-14 FG), I love butterfingers!  Kyrie Irving (29/6/3/0/1, 3 3PM), I can take two?!!  Uh Steve Nash (7/2/4/0/1, 1 3PM), a f*cking apple?  Are you joking me?...

With Leather Decision Time: Help Me Pick An NBA Team

It’s NBA season, and I desperately need to stop dicking around and pick a team to follow. Here’s a brief history of my basketball fandom. When I was a kid growing up in southern Virginia, I loved the Charlotte Hornets. They were the closest team to me, purple and teal were in because The 1990s and Larry Johnson was helping Eddie Winslow win basketball games on ‘Family Matters’...
