HOUSTON -- Rockets guard James Harden returned from a one-game injury hiatus and provided the Houston Rockets with a scoring punch that, considering the opponent, few anticipated would be so sorely needed. With the lowly Washington Wizards refusing to relent on the heels of their first road win, Tuesday night in New Orleans, the Rockets struggled before pulling out an unsightly 99-93 win Wednesday night at Toyota Center. Harden paced Houston with 31 points after being sidelined Monday due to a sprained right ankle. The Rockets maintained their breakneck pace against the San Antonio Spurs even without Harden, eventually falling in overtime. Their offense was less efficient against Washington. "That's the kind of typical James game where he just makes plays and attacks," Rockets coach Kevin McHale said. "We had some things going where we had some drops on some passes back to our bigs, and our bigs have got to go in there and finish strong, get fouled and make ...

As the focal point of the Rockets' offense this season, James Harden is shooting 25 percent on roughly four shots per game.
James Harden missed Monday's game with an ankle injury, but he returned to practice yesterday. Unfortunately, Jeremy Lin suffered his own ankle injury at practice and will be evaluated today. Neither injury was serious, and if Lin has to miss time, it is not expected to be very much time.According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, Harden is expected to return...
James Harden scored 31 points to lift the Houston Rockets to a 99-93 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.
After suffering a sprained ankle last Saturday against Dallas and missing Monday night's loss to San Antonio, Harden returned to lead the Rockets to their first victory under coach Kevin McHale in more than a month.

James Harden has already proven that he is capable of success outside of Oklahoma City. Before he was traded to the Houston Rockets, there were worries that Harden was just a product of a system, playing opposite two of the best players in the game and he would flounder if he had to carry a team.
The Rockets are not blowing away the competition by any means, but at just a game...

Bradley Beal takes MVP honors for tonight’s game. Beal strung together a solid 20 point, six assist effort, leading the Wizards in both categories. When his outside jumper wasn’t falling early, Beal began attacking the basket getting out in transition and also...
Not sure why pro sports teams put their fans through torture with stupid YouTube videos, but they do. Check out this video of the Houston Rockets singing (or attempting to sing) "Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel." Honestly, they are so bad that it's almost not even a funny video, you can judge for yourself though.
P.S. Where is the new recruit James Harden...
10 a.m. ET: When the Celtics last took the floor against a Texas opponent, they played 10 minutes of free basketball. After a day off from practice to recover from that tough win over the Mavericks, the Celtics hope for a much shorter, much easier victory over the Rockets.
Houston is led by James Harden, who came over from Oklahoma City in a late preseason trade and has become unquestionably...

Back in November, I tasked the With Leather readers with choosing an NBA team for me to support, and the unanimous decision was the Houston Rockets. I’ve done my best to be a Rockets fan, weathering a James Harden sprained ankle and every Jeremy Lin game that wasn’t his one good one, but this clip of the team singing the Hanukkah classic, ‘I Have A Little Dreidel,’ may be...
After trailing the entire 4th quarter, Paul Pierce gave the Celtics signs of life with a big 3 that cut the Houston lead to 88-83. On the next possession Rajon Rondo poked the ball away from James Harden and dove for the steal, but couldn't quit come up with it. Harden then buried a deep three to stretch the lead back to 8 with 4:41 to go. Boston would never get any closer...

The Celtics are sitting at 11-9 on the season, putting them in fourth place in a very competitive Atlantic Division. It’s time to take a look at their upcoming opponents this week to see if they can build up some momentum.
With the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers all playing sound basketball, the Celtics can no longer afford to slack off during the regular...
