The Los Angeles Clippers are still Blake Griffin's team, but the star power forward doesn't need to do all the heavy lifting on the offensive end. He claims that playing with a sleeve on his right arm for the last three games because of fluid in his elbow hasn't affected him, but his numbers have dropped sharply from last season when he averaged 20.7 points and 10.9 rebounds. Griffin's averages are 15.7 and 8.7, respectively, after scoring a career low-tying seven points and grabbing 10 boards in...

Crawford on his time in Portland: "We deserved to get booed"

If they gave out Sixth Man of the Year awards at Seattle’s Rainier Beach High School back in the day, it is a given that Jamal Crawford would have grabbed every single one. But instead he was busy starting, winning a state championship in 1998 and eventually having his jersey retired.  Ah, those were the days. Yet for Crawford, those days in Seattle suddenly come back to mind...

Portland Trail Blazers Desperately Need A Bench

Jamal Crawford was a polarizing player here in Portland last year. The vet came in to help fill the void that his good friend Brandon Roy left with his sudden medical retirement. Most of his career, Crawford has come off the bench as the 6th man, even winning the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award with the Atlanta Hawks in 2010. Many people around Portland loved seeing Crawford shoot...

Resilient Clippers withstand Blazers' push

There were several uncertain moments in the second half Thursday night when the Clippers started to regress. They were lackadaisical on defense, gave up too many uncontested shots and seemed on the verge of letting their big lead slip away. It would not have been surprising if they had. The Clippers were playing on the second night of back-to-back games, they were on the road at...

Clippers' bench comes through again

LOS ANGELES -- From the beginning, the Clippers knew they had an experienced group of reserves -- players who knew what to do with their limited minutes on the court. They had Matt Barnes and Jamal Crawford and Ronny Turiaf and Lamar Odom, and they figured all of them, plus burgeoning star Eric Bledsoe, would be capable enough to give the team a boost of energy and important offensive...
