Josh Smith has been heavily involved in the rumor circuit this season.  There is talk that the Atlanta Hawks could trade him, or they could re-sign him to an extension.  In addition to the constant rumors, it seems Smith has become frustrated over the team's recent play.  He let that frustration get the best of him, acted out in practice, and was suspended for last night's game.Yesterday afternoon, the Atlanta Hawks tweeted out the official news that Smith was suspended for the game.Josh Smith has been suspended for tonight's game by the #ATLHawks— Atlanta Hawks (@ATLHawks) January 16, 2013It was not immediately clear the reason for the suspension, but soon reports surfaced that Smith had been kicked out of practice Wednesday afternoon, and coach Larry Drew suspended him for the game as well.  Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today Sports confirmed the suspension was for conduct detrimental to the team and had Smith's statement later in the day.“Clearly I am competitive and was frustrated by our recent losses. I understand and respect the team’s actions and just want to get back on the court to do whatever is necessary to help my teammates. I apologize for letting them down and apologize to our fans” for missing Nets game.”Smith is not expected to miss anymore time.  The Hawks managed to take care of the Brooklyn Nets last night despite being short-handed.  But they don't want to make a habit out of it.  Smith has averaged 16.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.  He has certainly helped the Hawks throughout the season.
