PLAYERS: Josh Smith
TEAMS: Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks are entertaining trade offers for Josh Smith, but the team has yet to decide whether or not to deal the veteran forward, according to David Aldridge of TNT.The Atlanta Hawks are entertaining trade offers around the league for forward Josh Smith, but have yet to decide whether they will deal the ninth-year forward, according to league sources. The Hawks have discussed a contract extension with Smith, as Atlanta is reportedly willing to offer a three-year deal worth $47 million. This would be the max deal they would be able to offer under the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, according to Aldridge. However, Smith turned down that deal, saying he preferred to play out his current contract and receive a longer deal this summer. It was initially believed that the Hawks were unwilling to give the 29-year-old a max five-year deal this summer, but Aldridge says discussions are ongoing.Smith believes he’s a max player, and he’s prepared to walk in order to find such a deal. If the Hawks don’t trade him this month, they could still swing a sign-and-trade at the start of the offseason. However, their window for reaching a resolution regarding Smith is narrowing, and Atlanta certainly doesn’t want to part ways with the forward without receiving anything in return.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
