When guards Lou Williams and Devin Harris went down with injuries on back-to-back nights last week, Hawks general manager Danny Ferry knew he had to make a move and fast. Enter Jannero Pargo, a former Hawks guard who signed a 10-day contract with the team to provide a backup for starting point guard Jeff Teague. Pargo is in his 11th season in the NBA and is your typical journeyman veteran: He's played for six different teams in his career, including three separate stints with the Chicago Bulls and two separate stints with the Los Angeles Lakers. He's also played in Russia and Greece. Hawks supporters should recognize the name and No. 7 jersey as well. Pargo played in 50 games for Atlanta during the 2011-12 season, averaging 13.4 minutes and 5.6 points per game. His most recent stop came in Washington this season, where he played seven games before being waived in November. Pargo will be immediately available for Hawks coach Larry Drew and will be on the bench for Monday's game versus the Timberwolves. In his 436 career games, the 6-foot-1 guard has posted respectable career numbers averaging 6.4 points, 1.5 rebounds and two assists per contest and should help bridge the gap between now and Harris' return. Harris sprained his left ankle versus the Spurs Saturday night and is listed as day-to-day. Williams, on the other hand, will not return this season after tearing his ACL against the Nets. At the very least, Pargo's signing will provide Drew with a familiar face on the bench for the next 10 days.
