MIAMI -- It was nearly a highly embarrassing evening for the Heat, but LeBron James scored 31 points to save Miami in a 99-94 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday night. The reigning NBA champion Heat entered with the best record in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Bobcats were tied with the Wizards for the worst record in the NBA, which is ironic because the Heat also played poorly against Washington this season, losing in December. With 8:51 left, the surprising Bobcats led 72-69. The Heat then put together a 14-2 run that included five layups or dunks. The Bobcats answered with an 8-4 run to keep it close before the Heat pulled away. It's tough to explain why the Heat played such uninspired basketball, but the team did arrive in the wee hours Monday morning after playing in Toronto on Sunday afternoon and then sticking around to watch the Super Bowl. James got the team to change its flight plan. Instead of flying back immediately after the game and missing t...

TORONTO -- As he so often does, LeBron James took over Sunday's game late in the fourth quarter, and he did it in a variety of ways. His rebound and pass set up a big 3-pointer from the corner by Chris Bosh to put the Miami Heat ahead by seven points. Then James stole a pass by Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry and took it the other way for a driving dunk, putting the...

The news was mostly bad in Miami last night. First, the Bobcats lost their 9th straight game to the Heat. The Heat dominate the Bobcats like Rafael Nadal dominates clay courts, Beyoncé dominates national anthems, Ray Lewis dominates psalms, and Gana Diop dominates White Castle drive-thrus. Second, while the Bobcats were going down in Heat [...]
I have a special place in my heart for the state of Ohio. I am not from there, but I did spend almost five years there during my time at The Ohio State University.
I understand their pain. Especially Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers fans. I know they feel Lebron James betrayed him, but just like any bad breakup it is time to move on.
You have a nice young squad and a superstar in a...
