Heat center Joel Anthony has a sprained left ankle and is out of the team's starting lineup for Tuesday night's game with the Phoenix Suns. The team says Anthony sprained the ankle in Sunday's win over Orlando. He is being listed as day-to-day. Dexter Pittman is Anthony's replacement in the starting lineup. All of Pittman's first 26 appearances in his first two seasons with the Heat came off the bench. Anthony was the only Heat player to start all 44 of the team's games entering Tuesday. He's averaging 3.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots per game this season.

Ex-Heat forward Walker sells ring from title

MIAMI The list of owners of Miami Heat player championship rings includes Dwyane Wade, Udonis Haslem and now Andres Garcia. TMZ reported that Antoine Walker, who has lost all of the 100 million-plus he made during a 12-year NBA career and gone into bankruptcy, has been forced to sell his 2006 Heat title ring to that man named Garcia for 21,500. I think its worth more than that...

Turiaf signing gives Heat a big-body backup

At least the newest Miami Heat reserve center wont have to enroll with Jenny Craig. The Heat have had Dexter Pittman and Eddy Curry, whose seasons have included as much time shedding pounds as working on their games. But Ronny Turiaf, who signed with the Heat after clearing waivers Wednesday, is a 6-foot-10, 250-pound guy who has had no weight problems and is a consummate professional...

LeBron Gets Friendly with Admirer

He says we're just real good friends T.. LeBron James is in year 2 of his quest for 8 rings. The Miami Heat superstar has settled in nicely in Miami, and is having one of his best seasons yet. He’s also meeting plenty of fans…or is this case, a girl who is possibly more than a fan? We received a tip claiming LeBron is involved with the girl above. As to the level of involvement...

LeBron James "too tough" for concussions, but re-aggravates fake injured elbow

LeBron James looked like a real tough guy last night in the Heat's win over the Suns. Sort of. He collided with Grant Hill when both were going for a loose ball and took a shoulder in the head for his efforts. He supposedly was shaken up, but stayed in the game after some well rehearsed theatrics (such as laying prone on the floor.) Earlier in the game, he took a hard foul and...

Ronny Turiaf a welcome addition for Heat

Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday that the Miami Heat agreed to sign 6-foot-10 power forward Ronny Turiaf for a pro-rated amount of the veteran’s minimum. Turiaf’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, said that the contract will include a player option for next season, unusual for buyout players. This move makes sense on many levels. The recent absences of Chris Bosh...

Antoine Walker remains a sad, pathetic person

Here's the latest chapter in the sad saga that is Antoine Walker's life: Antoine Walker's NBA Championship ring just sold for $21,500 ... which would have been great news for Antoine, if he wouldn't have been FORCED to sell as part of hisbankruptcy case. Walker -- who won the ring as a member of the 2006 Miami Heat -- filed for bankruptcyback in 2010...

Chris Bosh is better when he’s talking to himself on the court

Players all have routines or habits that get them ready for games. Some guys need to be slapped in the face. Others bang their heads against the goal. For Chris Bosh, talking to himself helps get him in the zone. Bosh shot poorly in back-to-back games last week against the Bulls and 76ers, but he played well in a win over the Magic Sunday. The big difference is that he was talking...

Grant Hill's impact on NBA is lasting

MIAMI - When LeBron James was growing up and Grant Hill played at Duke, James wasn't a fan. "No one liked Duke," James said. But after Hill entered the NBA in 1994 and joined the Detroit Pistons, it became much cooler in his Akron, Ohio, neighborhood to dig him. And James went all out. "I had his shoes when I was younger," James said. "I had trading...

Heat stun Suns with 17-0 run in fourth

Chris Bosh scored 29 points, LeBron James had two scary falls and the Miami Heat used a 17-0 fourth-quarter run to erase a 10-point deficit and beat the Phoenix Suns 99-95 on Tuesday night for their 14th straight home victory. James finished with 20 points, Dwyane Wade had 19, and Udonis Haslem added a season-high 15 for the Heat, who survived two huge late scares -- a double-digit...

Ronny Turiaf fills a void for the Heat

The Miami Heat pick up free agent Ronny Turiaf in an effort to bolster their front line.  Turiaf, 29, is a 6’10 forward/center who will bring a lot of energy to Miami.  Ronny is a good enough to hold his own on both ends of the floor.  A strong defender who is good enough on the offensive end not to be a liability.  Joel Anthony is a better defender than Turiaf, but his lack...

Heat get big-man help, sign Ronny Turiaf

MIAMI (AP) -- The Miami Heat have signed veteran center Ronny Turiaf, who has missed much of this season with a broken left hand. Turiaf and the Heat completed a deal on Wednesday. He will likely practice with his team for the first time on Thursday and could debut as early as Friday when Miami plays at Detroit. The Heat have been looking for inside help for several weeks, and...

BEHIND BOSH, HEAT WIN 14TH STRAIGHT AT HOME

The Miami Heat are the best team in the NBA.  At least they are ate home, with a record of 20-2.  Their 20th win came against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, but it was far from easy.  The Heat have dominated plenty of teams this year, and while the Suns coming to town might seem like an easy victory, Miami was in big trouble throughout the game. Chris Bosh was the most consistent...

Shane Battier Puts One Flopper On Blast

NBA players flop…. Some more than others and the Houston Rockets are NOTORIOUS as floppers. Shane Battier is infamous for his ability to obtain the “draw the foul charges,”but he’s all for an anti-flop regulation in the NBA.  In Battier’s mind, an anti-flopping measure would need to be implemented on both ends of the floor. “As [...]
